View of the upper part of a vast glacial valley with a full view of the main branch and some side branches of the remaining parts of the (still massive) glacier which has been shaping the valley for the past ~15,000 years. The peaks surrounding the glacier are some of the highest in the eastern Alps (3800-4000m), and the entire upper regions are covered in deep snow, creating a beautiful focal point and contrast with the pristine blue sky. The view is from the middle section of the valley where…

An high alpine glacial origin zone at around 4000m elevation. Most of the summit and ridge line is covered in thick ice & snow, providing only little contrast to the mostly overcast cloudy white sky. A bit further down the first seracs are already forming, ahead of the so called "labyrinth zone" caused by a sudden steep 1000m+ drop (out of frame). Parts of the ice in those seracs are showing the distinctive rich cyan color of glacier ice. A couple of "small" rocky ridges are semi-exposed. The i…

Inversions (2021)
#GenerativeArt #Animation #Circle #Inversion

Animation loop of hundreds of white circles being transformed via inversion using an focal point (which is moving via sine wave). The result is a trippy spatial deformation and ever changing constellation of the circles, seemingly folding space inside/out (and back again)

Old graphical editor prototype (2019/20) with various ways of managing multiple selections of graphical entities, incl. align/distribute, duplicate, invert, select/deselect region (box/convex hull). editor is generic. items could be files, shapes, mesh vertices, 2d/3d points, graph nodes, whatever...
Been re-animating this prototype and toying with integrating it into my personal note taking & media management tool to organize items into piles for batch-processing and to easier app…

Screenrecording of a graphical editor prototype showing a number of circles being duplicated/manipulated and re-arranged via a sequence of mouse gestures and keyboard commands (the most recently executed command is shown in the top-left corner). The steps are:

- turn on grid
- create/duplicate circles (with grid snapping)
- selecting all
- duplicating selection(s) to form an 8x8 layout
- manually selecting 4 circles and then all circles in the convex hull
- drawing multiple box selectio…

Captivating & haunting from the first moment... In Hydrangea's (aka Hortense Coumailleau) Arborescens the atmosphere is full of seemingly frozen, yet moving & evocative layers/chords floating atop a warm bass...
