If Affinity really cares about the creatives, they (& all other design companies, hopefully Adobe too?) should have form a group to create a file format standard. As long as the design format is proprietary, there's not much "freedom" here, even if the software is free, paid-once or subscription-based.

That the new Affinity is not just free but AI-free sound too good to be true. It is one of the few softwares I gladly saved for and spend money on. This new thing doesn't sound like a reliable long term solution but more like a hard move against Adobe and a bet on AI as the future.

I can't guarantee I'd be able to dig up any CD-ROMs that came with them, but it's possible. And you'll need to be patient because they're located 100 miles from me.

Adobe Acrobat on MacOS just had an update that silently turns-on AI clips.
You need to go into Preferences and turn off "Show AI video cards" (and it is good to turn off everything else as well.)
This is especially important (to turn off the Acrobat AI gunk for people with fiduciary and professional secrecy and privacy obligations - like doctors, attorneys, accountants, etc.)
