Es gibt endlich einen offiziellen #ProtonVPN CLI client für #ArchLinux und derivate davon. Der Mit-Gründer von #CachyOS Peter Jung hat sich selbst drangesetzt und es implementiert:
Oh this is incredibly interesting. Should see if it can run a web browser... https://github.com/joelseverin/linux-wasm
For all the distro-hoppers out there TuxMate can be a useful tool. You select the apps and it creates the command to install them. It can save you some time.

And 2026, ay yes, 2026, the year Linux finally wins, everyone’s switching for real this time, and if it doesn’t happen you can blame me personally while I reinstall Arch for the fifth time pretending it’s society’s fault.

You could be off, sloshing in beer and downing a couple.
Instead you're installing gentoo on zfs, and in doing so discover a great archlinux project, with zfs and zfsbootmanager included.

I don't run Arch, btw

Barring any last minute hesitations by Linus Torvalds,
Linux 6.18 stable is expected for release in a little more than 24 hours from now...
Linux 6.18 is also anticipated to become this year's Long Term Support (LTS) kernel version
in being the last major kernel release of 2025.

"If you’re serious about Linux, you’re unlikely to fall for the Omarchy sales pitch. However, if you’re an inexperienced user who’s heard about Omarchy from a tech-influencer raving about it, I strongly recommend starting your Linux journey elsewhere, with a distribution that actually prioritizes your security and system integrity, and is built and maintained by people who live and breathe systems, and especially Linux."
Never cared much for Omarchy: It's being made by a right-wing dipshit with no experience with Linux and distributions who's whole "Opinion" seems to be that "90ies Hacker movie look" is what makes a good operating system.
But when I read this actual review https://マリウス.com/a-word-on-omarchy/
Hmmm..
Guess I should keep a offline backup of Debian repo, F-droid repo, Wikipedia, Arch wiki, some YouTube channels, some Comics, some Podcasts...
Hmmmm..
In case something happens.

BTW, I forgot how good it was.
Although I love my Slackware and doodling around in FreeBSD and Gentoo, I'm an Archie.
Specifically from the days with ArchLabs.
Reminiscing that I installed MangoWC on plain Arch.
The meme has been overtaken for a long time already, but the quality still rocks. No matter what they say, I use Arch, btw!

I run Jellyfin in a systemd-nspawn for several months but only last week I noticed that my playback issues seem to stem from Jellyfin not being able to use hardware acceleration for transcoding.
Does anyone have any hints on how to make HW acceleration work in an nspawn? I found some hints in the Arch Linux forum that I should bind /dev/dri into the container but the nspawn won't start with idmap and without it the bind mounted files have nobody:nogroup for ownership. Of course the…

@… Wow! I haven't been able to get any Arch-based distro to install next to Linux Mint. Don't know why it doesn't work, but it just doesn't.
So, let's suppose you'd want to roll your own distro. It's special, right?
Well. if you include KDE Plasma you might as well shelve that project straight-away.
Nothing you'll do hasn't been done before (and very good) by a shitload of predecessors. Let alone, if you base it on Arch. In 2026? That's stale, man. Give up and move on.

E magicamente quello che non riuscivo a far funzionare su Artix su Gentoo gira senza dare problemi.
Alla fine sono convinto che openrc come int e il sistema di ebuild con gli USE e le KEYWORDS siano un buon compromesso per avere un sis…
