I’m curious if it’s because Cursor is an individual’s tool (so people are spending their own money). In contrast, GitHub Copilot is an enterprise tool (your corporate sugar daddy typically buys it for you).

Scary headlines like this mask what I call "talent debt": when companies cut juniors because seniors AI seem faster, forgetting that AI doesn't train future leaders. You're not saving money, you're cutting off your pipeline.

If I maintained a biggish open source project hosted on github I'd be annoyed to have it scavenged by Copilot.
In that case, I'd consider obfuscating the shit out of everything and using a descrambler before developing and building. And I'd laugh happily when I saw copilot use get_buffle_ir_643() in generated code.
