Just been working on some cards for my home assistant dashboard. Very nice animated dashboard except the developer coded low humidity as bad and high humidity as good. Obviously from a much more arid environment but made me laugh while reversing it.

Die LG-Firma Athom bringt eine neue Fertiglösung für die Smart-Home-Steuerung, die ähnlich flexibel wie aber weniger kompliziert als Home Assistant sein soll.

Für Sungrow PV-Anlagen gibt es eine (relativ) neue Integration (ha-modbus-manager) in Homeassistant, die mir auf den ersten Blick deutlich besser gefällt, als die manuelle Bastelei mit der mkaiser-Variante, die ich bisher genutzt habe.
Ein riesiger Vorteil: Sie ist per HACS verfügbar.

My Friedrich window AC has an issue where it turns the compressor on maybe 2% of the time, else it just blows room temp. I found that once it’s on, if the power is cut (not thermostat or controls) it will stay on, so now I have Alexa use the Air Quality Monitor to kill power below 67°F so the thermostat doesn’t get the chance to shut off the compressor. Sure, I could do similar with Home Assistant, but this works!

Picked up the Home Assistant addon project again. Notes:
- Home Assistant was evidently designed by a committee of crackheads.
- Nothing works like it logically should: not the UI, not the backend.
- Physical directories do not correspond to paths in the application: /www/community/something/somefile.js is called /hacsfiles/something/somefile.js when you're adding it as a resource.

Is there a local home assistant that can do basic queries, timers, Internet radio (news), and weather. The pushiness of Alexa new voice is getting on my nerves.

Been giving Home Assistant another try. It’s ok I guess.
Probsbly not a common problem but there really is no good solutions that I could find for managing multiple locations from a single instance or even some kind of federated view or something.
Integrating Choria Switch and Metric abstractions into it So I can pull in sensor stats and interact with heaters etc - but let Choria keep autonomously own the devices.
(Also a updated picture of my Pi case for sensors)

Home assistant is too unreliable. I run it on the Raspberry Pi4B with an external HDD for storage and every now and then it just stops responding or does not boot after an update or does not update or ... Sometimes a restart helps, sometimes I need to reinstall and get everything from the backup. Now today I ran into the "missing shutdown button":

bought a jabra to give ears and mouth to home assistant and after a remarkable amount of cursing I got it working.
It's amazing considering that this whole stack is basically a caesar salad of free software

Finally managed to hook my #GoogleNest in #HomeAssistant.
If you are in the same situation, remember to remove *all* Google credentials first. Home Assistant doesn't allow org accounts, only regular ones. I had Google Drive with my main account, which is in my own org.

Jetzt muss man jedes Gerät in Apple home nochmal „freigeben“, bekommt einen code den man am besten in die Handy App von Home Assistant copy-pasted und schon sind alle 5 Geräte auch im „zweiten Zuhause“.
Der Lecksensor hat einfach unten 2 Metallkontakte und wenn er im Wasser steht werden sie verbunden und er piept. Funktioniert.
Der CO2-Sensor ist klasse und auch als Schreibtischuhr geeignet. CO2 Level in meinem Büro ist auch bei längerem Mathe machen nicht erhöht. 🧐
