Conclusion of my “No Kings” speech in uptown Charlotte, NC on 14 June 2025. (60 sec)

My full 8 minute talk on YouTube:
I got tired of trying to find inverted pc cases in our country. The only ones are from bequiet and they are either too big or too expensive (if not the size and stock problem id buy the black 802).
Just now i noticed that the front panel on my old deepcool matrix 55 is almost reversible (minus the middle pins), why not try and reverse it?)
I was trying Greenlight for streaming my Xbox console games on Bazzite Linux, and I noticed there's still hope for Microsoft 🧐 🥰 🥳 🎮

I wanted to replace my home PC with my laptop for my daily tasks, but for some reason the old ViewSonic monitor is incompatible. It doesn't show up on the hdmi connections when I list them with xrandr and, what's worse, it's the same with all other laptops, no matter if they run Windows or GNU/Linux.
In the end, after testing it on 3 laptops and a minipc, it only works connected to my current PC.
Has anyone seen anything similar? 🤨
Saw a computer (desktop tower PC) on the side of the road today and stopped to see if there were any useful parts I could pull from it because I thought it would be hilarious to have parts in my NAS from a literal garbage PC on the side of the road.
People don't want systemd on their PC
I would feel honoured to have systemd on my phone
I find myself doing a lot of the research when coding larger features or debugging hard problems over my phone these days, googling things, looking up articles, you name it. Because sometimes thoughts come to me when I am not necessarily in front of the PC and having the phone handy is really convenient.
So I really miss having the same convenience to try actual code out without having to walk over to my PC be it a room or half a town away.
Am I alone in that feeling?
02:31—Good Night #Fediverse! 😴💤
I just made myself a new banner for myself, using (mostly) open source software. The only exception was that I used a random website to add an outline to my Rudolf Rocker image, I was too lazy to get out of bed and use GIMP on my PC for that step. For everything else, I used this tool from GitHub:
I need your help. It's surprisingly hard to find a PC game (or port/emulation) that ticks the following boxes:
- generally easy, or with easy difficulty setting
- mostly linear, not open world
- story-driven
- ideally, controller support
You know what I mean? I'm looking for something relaxing for when my brain is exhausted where I don't have to make too many decisions.

God damn it, why does Apple make it so hard to get files off the damn device!!!
I have some old procreate files from an old ipad that needs fixed and it's so frustrating I can't just plug it in, open a folder, and paste it into my PC. No, I have to use their dumb Apple devices app that crashes.
104°f in the forecast today (so likely 100 here, generally tend to be a few degrees below the airport the local news channels use for their forecast) so it's a Steam Deck day. This saves the AC in the RV from having to fight down the heat from my PC/monitor. What am I doing on it? Why, I'm using Chiaki4Deck to remote play Dave The Diver on my PS5 (That sits in a cabinet with an exhaust fan venting outside👍)
With all excitement and bling floating around I am enjoying my time today on GhostBSD Mate edition. Well rounded, everything works ootb, quiet styling (I've turned on a Dracula theme of course ;-).
Plus'es: samba , VLC, sound, LibreOffice, generic feel, the Stations (backup, software), sudo (I prefer doas, but newcomers will recognize sudo), install and go.
BSD generic: volume settings (mixer pcm etc), wifi (on a 2018 mini pc with Ryzen 2500U, seriously?) and of course BT are generic issues. Can be solved, but still.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that GhostBSD totally takes care of graphics drivers, dbus et al. I mean DisplayPort at 185hz ootb, great!
All in all a nice one 👍🏻, recommended!
