Just a note for anyone doing patches this weekend. I had a site not come up (didn't notice until this morning). It was throwing this error. Of COURSE this site was front ended with a nginx proxy, so I spent a little wasted time thinking it was related to that. It wasn't. Apache now likes to have a full FQDN hostname in <VirtualHost name:port> directive. This one just had "_default_". I simply out FQDN there, apachectl restart and all is well again.

Decomposition of the Tschirnhausen module for coverings on decomposable \texorpdfstring{$\mathbb{P}^1$}{P1}-bundles
In this note, we show that for a smooth algebraic variety $Y$ and a smooth $m$-secant section $X$ of the $\mathbb{P}^1$-bundle \[ f : \mathbb{P}(\mathcal{O}_Y \oplus \mathcal{O}_Y(E)) \longrightarrow Y, \] where $E$ is an effective divisor on $Y$ satisfying $H^1(Y, \mathcal{O}_Y(kE)) = 0$ for all $k = 1, \ldots, m-1$, the Tschirnhausen module of the induced covering $ f|_X : X \longrightarrow Y $ is completely decomposable. We then apply it to coverings of curves arising in such a way.

On a sequence of Kimberling and its relationship to the Tribonacci word
In 2017, Clark Kimberling defined an interesting sequence ${\bf B} = 0100101100 \cdots$ of $0$'s and $1$'s by certain inflation rules, and he made a number of conjectures about this sequence and some related ones. In this note we prove his conjectures using, in part, the Walnut theorem-prover. We show how his word is related to the infinite Tribonacci word, and we determine both the subword complexity and critical exponent of $\bf B$.

Let \( f: X \to Y \) be an algebraic fiber space, where \( X \) and \( Y \) are smooth projective varieties of dimensions \( n \) and \( m \), respectively. In \cite{Caopaun}, Cao and Păun proved \( C_{n,m} \) when \( Y \) has maximal Albanese dimension. In this short note, we prove \( C_{n,m} \) in the cases where the Albanese dimension $α(Y)$ of \( Y \) satisfies \( α(Y) = m-1 \) or \( α(Y) = m-2 \).
