She is very cute and politically on the bestest side but this morning I found a dead mouse head on my front porch and I'm not sure if that was a compliment or a threat.

There's nothing like sitting on the porch while a summer thunderstorm lets loose.

I think Harley is going to miss her large play area - which is a few acres, including our neighbour's yard where her buddy lives - and her front porch where she can keep watch while sunning herself. She is well trained to never approach the road out front, and we've never needed a fence. I think more walks are in our future, which is a good thing.

We have booked a stay in a self-catering cottage in Gloucestershire for a week over the summer. We've just been sent the welcome pack and it reads a little bit like solving an old school adventure game.
There is a keysafe at the cottage - located on the left pillar of the porch when you walk up the path. The key safe code is XXXX.
Use the small key in here to open the wooden box on your left as you walk in to the porch. Inside that you will find a large key which is for the main door.
Please make sure you leave this key in the wooden box on your departure as this is the only key to the property.

My haul of ginger today, from a 40 cm (16 inch) pot on my front porch. I have another couple of plants growing in the garden, and from them I just dig up a bit when I want it. This potted one gets harvested all at once, to make pickled ginger (for rice paper rolls and sushi) and a shoot replanted in new compost each year. Such a lot, for so little space or effort. #retrosuburbia

It was hot yesterday and will be warm again today, but right now, on my porch, it's chilly. I couldn't be happier.

Well, my porch is pretty much exactly at 32C, so the @… can stand down. It made its forecast, it was spot on, and it can move on to other things now I suppose. All the billions well spent I say.

Went over to the neighbors this morning for coffee on the porch. A little gathering of neighbors they host once in awhile.
Noticed his wife was not remembering well, we attributed it to the fact we are all getting a bit on the old side.
