I think that this is just an extension of these companies seeking to be seen as “moving fast and breaking things”. It is dangerous and it is irresponsible. Notice the wave of “Oh, ours did that too!” after every instance of creations “going rogue.”
If the US had a functioning government, there would be laws and regulations around how frontier AI companies operate.
