@teledyn@mstdn.caand so, once again, the 'solution' isn't in the distro or legacy, it is in the wiki on the internals of Evolution where I just incidentally learn it can be a flatpak or not, and thus there are TWO .local/share folders to wipe. So I delete all accts in Evo, empty trash just in case, exit, wipe those folders, go into Settings, delete the Google connection which shows as two identical so delete them both, reboot.
On boot, go straight to settings which shows none, add Google and I'm in, quick as a wink. I start #Evolution, and lo, there it is, my account fetching emails!
Now to figure that #mastodonel thing and why mastodon.plstore is so problematic.

Went to a different computer to try and that one was powered off. Went back to the one I rebooted on accident and it didn't reboot so I started it up. Went back to the other one and it was up so I used that one.
Self hosting puts you in control.

(I don’t really remember if when moving to Pretendo I moved the mii and created a new similar one for the old account or if it was the other way around and I just created a similar mii to the new one)
(Back then I did try moving the save data between the accounts with a SaveMii, but it didn’t work for Wii Fit U (or for mk8, tho haven’t had issues with that one))

@thomastraynor@social.linux.pizzaI am going dual monitors for work. The docking station that was provided had only one HDMI port, but two DP ports. The problem is all of my monitors have HDMI inputs only. I remembered that last year I bought a DP to HDMI adapter and wondered if that would work.
I plugged it all in and it didn't detect the second monitor. I figured the laptop might need a reboot to detect the change. After the reboot it saw the second monitor.

@compfu@mograph.socialProps to the #Incus team. I had set up a Rocky 9 machine using Incus and ZFS as a test at the start of the year. I just updated the whole system using dnf update and installed the incus rpms somebody built for inclusion in the epel repo (but they are not part of it yet). And things seem to work great after a single reboot.

Previously, I had multiple failed offline upgrades with ZFS root (it would just reboot again without doing the update), and I suspect `systemctl add-requires local-fs.target zfs-mount.service` fixed it because the `/system-update` symlink pointed into a non-mounted filesystem without that.
Now enjoying the warm fuzzy fee…
@penguin42@mastodon.org.ukI upgraded my backup Scaleway VM from debian 11 to debian 13 (trixie); 11->12 went easily; but 12->13 was a fight. First off an old motd script (scw-metadata) stopped me logging in; and then after a reboot it landed at grub-rescue> complaining about a messing symbol ('grub_is_lockdown') - that turned out to be that there was an old fallback Grub in /boot/efi/EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.EFI which is what it was booting from rather than the EFI/debian one

#virtualbox freezes when starting up a VM. The host system then hanging at poweroff/reboot... and ultimately ended up kernel panicking after hard-reset.
went back to 6.12.48 and all is fine..

I have a wake from suspend issue on RX 6800 on Manjaro. It worked fine until few months ago but something changed and now almost every time, I get greeted with an unresponsive PC with black screen. The only fix is to hard reboot.
Is this normal? I am on 6.17 kernel with Mesa 25.2.

@penguin42@mastodon.org.uk'debootstrap' is one of my favourite parts of debian - and you can use it from other distros as well! It lets you setup a debian install in a directory for use with a container/chroot/etc .
My most recent two uses are 1) Building up a new debian install on an existing machine running a different distro in an LVM LV on the running system and configoring it, ready to go on reboot 2) Installing a very old debian chroot for some testing.
