In a few minutes LoftyAssist is about to have its 500th deployment to prod since November 11th of 2024. That averages out as 2 deployments per day. Obviously didn't push stuff to prod daily there, but some days I can just get cranking.
When I work on the systems, I want them to be instantly deployable. I know I have it easy because my systems are not mission critical, but there are real users behind them managing their money with it. So it is important not to fail, be buggy, etc.

Ah, current plans for today: find some way to get Microsoft Flight Sim 2024 running on my computer. So far I've managed to select my starting airport/airfield and then the game hangs. It's progress, but I have a feeling this fight is going to go on for awhile considering the game hangs immediately afterwards.

So, tracked down the issue with Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) 2024. The default permissions for the HOTAS `/dev/hidraw` devices is too restrictive. This is why neither MSFS 2024 or Elite: Dangerous saw the devices. I added new entries into the `udev` rules to relax the permissions and both games immediately saw the HOTAS.

We investigate the energy spectra of secondary cosmic ray particles associated with two distinct solar events: the magnetospheric effect (ME) of 5 November 2023 and ground-level enhancement (GLE 74) of 11 May 2024. Hrmm, seems like my HOTAS setup doesn't work with MSFS 2024 under Linux which is very annoying. Not quite sure _why_ it's not working other than as far as MSFS is concerned it does not exist. `usbreset` shows it and I can see outputs from the device, but for this specific game it's a no-go at the moment. Very annoying.
