Claiming that capitalism is good because the "communist" Polish People's Republic was "worse" is like claiming that Christianity is good because pre-Christian Poland was "worse".

The Economist aiming for #Vietnam and the general secretary.
"If Mr Lam fails, Vietnam will muddle on as a low-value-added production centre. But if he succeeds, a second doi moi would propel 100m Vietnamese into the developed world, creating another Asian growth engine."

When the family calls me a tankie, I just drop Rudolf Rocker’s black-and-red flag and remind them: Rocker spent his life critiquing both state capitalism and authoritarian socialism, he literally wrote book's on why real liberation means smashing all forms of state power, not trading one boss for another.
Anarcho-syndicalism: Theory and Practice

A diagonally divided red and black anarchist flag with a centered circular portrait of Rudolf Rocker, symbolizing the unity of anarcho-syndicalist and anarcho-communist ideals.

The red represents the historic socialist roots and blood of struggle, while the black signifies anarchism’s negation of state power and mourning for lost liberty.

Joe Walsh: "Trump’s tactics are in fact communist. Many Republican elected officials do see this but turn the other way. Because the base of the party embraces these communist tactics. Again, so much of this can be attributed to the fact that the right had always had a thing for authoritarianism."

After all, they called Joe Biden, the former Senator from CapitalOne and a devout Catholic, a socialist and communist.
One of the differences between the Right and Left in the USA is that the Right is dedicated to the idea of political tribal solidarity and social binaries, while the Left puts an overriding emphasis on its own diversity, that of the Right, and that of society.
It is part of how they manage to maintain themselves in power.

I wonder how it shows up in practice that the mayor of Graz is from the communist party since 2021? (Which got most votes in the municipal elections.) The coalition leading the city consists of KPÖ (communists), Greens, and SPÖ (Labour).

I finally got rid of the old bed I’d kept since moving in, so the room feels pretty empty right now.
I’m in the process of reorganizing everything and plan to turn this space into my own anarchist sanctuary.
Soon, I’ll add a bookshelf and more anarchist art to the wall, right next to the communist hammer and sickle symbol.
