Next week, the grad students and I will be discussing Don Wright's biography of my forebear at the University of Toronto and English Canada's national historian, Donald Creighton. It's an expertly crafted book that, while sympathetic to the famously cantankerous Creighton, doesn't pull its punches. For some reason, my home server was using the "performance" CPU scaling governor. Changing it to "conservative" seems to have lowered power consumption for the whole machine by almost 10%. This saves more than 25€ per year in electricity cost.
You can check your own CPU scaling governor with `cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_governor`.

i can't say that a conservative MP being JD Vance's best buddy at Yale fills me with confidence that he would somehow make a substantive positive difference for Canada.
