Won't it be a surprise when it turns out that the party of bad losers, who've been trying to convince everyone that they could only have been beaten with election fraud for years, turns out to be the primary source of election fraud?

The UK local election results so far are fairly grim. People are understandably cross with #Labour, they have put themselves in an awkward position where they have effectively promised not to raise any of the maIn sources of tax when demands on the treasury are rising.
The Reform party cannot be the answer. They are a collection of easy answers to problems where there are no easy answers. …
Be sure to vote our Election Night Edition this upcoming Monday, as the polls close at 9:30 PM. Then, come for the pizza and stay for the tech discussions. We don’t know if the venue (Victory Cafe, 440 Bloor St. W.) will turn on the TVs for election results. We usually adjourn before that time, anyway. The festivities start at 6 PM!

And what has the D-party done?
Nada. Nada. Nada. The old faction is spinning in useless circles defending Biden's inexcusable decision to continue to run until too late. The younger element still shows no sign of engaging in the voting part of politics. Our middle-age element still looks first at t…
Donald Trump recently said Canada could freely participate in his Golden Dome in exchange for annexation. The US president’s post came on the heels of Mark Carney expressing interest in the missile ‘defense’ initiative, betraying his election promise to distance Canada from the US.
Take a minute to email Carney and defence minister David McGuinty to reject Canadian participation in Trump’s Golden Dome.

YDS Dean Greg Sterling on the election of the new Pope.
======
The election of Pope Leo XIV is a significant moment. Candidly, I did not think that I would see an American pope in my lifetime. I hope that the surprise of his election bodes well for the ways he will lead. Many of the cardinals (ca. 80%) who voted for the pope were appointed by Pope Francis. I hope that Leo will continue the work of Francis.
Kid is explaining to me advertising for the Australian election, as seen on YouTube. A lot of reprehensible dog whistling plus a weird ad comparing Labor to leftists in Iran, from the perspective of an Iranian-Australian man. Has anyone else seen the Iran-focused ad? WTF was that all about?! #auspol
While still partial and unofficial, the results for the Senate and party-list representatives are very surprising.
Based on months of polling, Bam and Kiko barely made it into the winning 12 circle, but now they are already in the top 5 with 3/4 of election returns counted.
And Akbayan is the top party list? They didn’t win any seat in 2019 and narrowly lost in 2022 but are now poised to get 3 seats?
Australian Green Party crushed in election after running hard on anti-Israel platform & attacking Labor govt as "complicit in genocide." 1st-choice vote (AU has ranked-vote system) drops from 12.25% to 11.75%, despite gains from Muslim voters. In races where final choice is Green vs Labor, more conservative voters overcome their past distaste for union-dominated Labor & transfers run massively against Greens.
Result: Greens lose at least 2 and maybe all 4 of their seat…
The right wing threat and a viable future
A statement from Steady State Manchester Introduction With horror we see the electoral success of POX, The party of Xenophobes and Fascists (which, without irony, actually calls itself Reform UK1). In the May election round they gained 677 more councillors, took control of 8 councils, landed a regional Mayor and gained another MP, in a formerly safe Labour seat.
Just leaving the Nicusor Dan rally in #Bucharest. Turnout was massive. Really feels like we're turning a corner. I'm much more hopeful about the #election results than I was even a few days ago. Polls, while of course not reliable, are showing a positive trend as well.
Following the election of Robert Prevost as the new Pope today, YDS asked professor Teresa Berger for perspective. Teresa Berger is Professor of Liturgical Studies and Thomas E. Golden Jr. Professor of Catholic Theology.
