I'm still looking for a book series / world to fall in love with as much as I had with Harry Potter. Re-reading it it's easy to see all the gross parts that I let myself gloss over the first time. But there is something there I can't explain that i really enjoy that I have not found elsewhere. I want to believe it's not just nostalgia but maybe that's all it is.

This is pretty rad.
PalmOS has a definite nostalgia for me. In the latter years (Trio/Cento era), it was extremely usable. Not sure I could daily drive it in 2024, but there were some fine application for the PalmOS.
Although if I dream a little bit: a similar project that does the WebOS experience faithful and I can run it atop PostmarkedOS. I *would* daily drive that today.

Populous: the Beginning: an enforced restart
The best game ever? I have often wondered if that was just nostalgia talking, with the game's sublime mix of action and strategy existing only in my memory. I've been without a means to play Populous: the beginning for some time now, but a recent GOG.com promotion let me rebuy it for £2.50 with various patches to allow it to play on modern machines.

I'm sure it's at least partly a factor of my age (early 50s), but in the last year, I've noticed I've become very nostalgic for the 1970s design aesthetic — at least some parts anyway.
Which is strange because during my 20s and 30s, I generally thought most stuff from the 1970s was very ugly.
I'm sure the root of this is a nostalgia for things of my childhood.
