Infielder Nº 20 Kevin Hager of Berkeley Heights, N.J., then a sophmore, of Cornell's Big Red just caught the ball
#photo #photography #baseball

A man wearing white pants and a black jersey has the tip of one foot just off the fround while the other is solidly up in the air and we can see his cleats, his shadow is completely contained on a patch of brown artifical turf with a sea of green turf behind him and a wall of black rectangular segments is behind him. He's wearing warpaint under his eyes, the ball is right in front of his gloved hand and his other hand is down and he wears a red cap with a big white C on it.

#Brats and #peppers on the grill, delicious. The sausage was on sale at Kroger for the holiday but why wait till Labor Day? Peppers are from the #garden, unripe

Thanking my fellow Mastodonians for making me aware of the wonders of moss.
I now have two tiny pet mosses, which accidentally became a small zen garden when I needed somewhere to put this little red pepper I'm going to grow into a plant.

2 small round mosses, one green, one grey in a bottle cap. In front of this a red chili pepper and a small rock with very square corners.

Am I the only one who finds it disconcerting to see the Red Sox in GREEN UNIFORMS?!

Black and white 𝑅𝑢𝑑𝑏𝑒𝑐𝑘𝑖𝑎𝑠 -- since red and green light account for like 80% of the brightness in sunlight, this flower is often the brightest thing in the frame by far and can cause challenges for exposure not to mind printing because the shade is far outside the CMYK gamut of printers

Monochrome image with a triangle of three flowers with dark cores and bright ray perals with fine radial lines, the closest two are super-sharp with one further away being less sharp and then a few more in the deep background blurred out not to mention some stems ands buds and stuff

I would hope most of my followers are already pretty skeptical of #rfkjr's autism claims. The internet's #hankgreen has done a deep dive into one of the bogus claims if you want to see how the lie was constructed:

A Tennessee special election to replace a Republican congressman who stepped aside this summer
has resulted in crowded primaries for both major parties,
a new test for one of three districts that GOP lawmakers drew as safely red in 2022 by dividing left-leaning Nashville.
The race to fill the seat vacated by former U.S. Rep. Mark Green could gauge the popularity of Donald Trump’s authoritarian second-term agenda, especially with suburban Republican voters.

Every three years, we work with curator Didi Dunphy to put together an exhibition of work by Georgia artists focused on a theme that then travels the state. The newest one is "Seams to Be: New Approaches to Textile Techniques," which opens at the Lyndon House Arts Center October 2 before moving on to the LaGrange Art Museum, the Morris Museum of Art in Augusta, the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon, the Albany Museum Of Art and the Columbus Museum.

A detail of a colorful work of textile art by Honey Pierre that features a Black woman, pictured with blue skin, sitting down reading a red book that's open in her left hand. The wallpaper in the background is pink with green flowers, and everything is bright and full of patterns.

About 400 runners off the start at Ithaca High school this Sunday for the Ithaca 5 & 10 -- a rare photo I didn't color grade because I'm paying close attention to how the trees have gotten darker in the past two weeks because they're already starting to turn
#photo #photography

A few runners at the head of a big crowd are halfway across a small bridge with green arches on the side, there are ugly power lines crossing behind the bridge and receding along a highway running parallel to the road; a range of green plant colors can be seen from a few that are somewhat bright green to darker greens and other trees that are showing the first signs of red and orange as well as a big spreading one past the left arch that I always thing was on the red side of very dark green

And yesterday's "Gai Pad Med Mamuang", sautéed chicken with roasted cashew nuts, chili paste (prik pao), onions, garlic an bell pepper (red and green). The best recipe so far from this Thaï cooking book, though it's a close one.

Today's was one of those days if I had any sense I would have stayed home and developed photographs but no, I had to go step in deep mud to take a picture that wasn't a keeper so I rinsed my shoes at Flatrock

In the foreground a pair of Puma sneakers mostly white with black heels and a black insert on the side outliner in red; these are on a rock and in the background find a wide creek with lots of rocks and a green forest on the other side

more wind splitting the seconds/begonias in dappled morning sunlight
#photography #bloomScrolling #begonia #orange

a deep orange red begonia flower in dappled sunlight coming from behind, mostly hitting the green leaves and less so the flower itself. in the background out of focus some blue-grey asphalt and green tree foliage
the same view as before, but this time the light is dappled slightly differently, catching more of the top part of the flower, giving it a color gradient from more yellow-orange where the sun hits it to more red-orange in the bottom, with a smooth gradation in between
again the same view as before, but now the sunlight is hitting the begonia flower straight in the middle from behind, giving its center an intense bright glow, contrasting with the more shadow-y background
again the same view with another variation on the dappled sunlight, this one bright but mellow
