This paper studies the effect of adding geometrically smoothed momentum to the randomized Kaczmarz algorithm, which is an instance of stochastic gradient descent on a linear least squares loss function. Every now and then I see Copilot replies include garbage prompts I never entered (see the underlined part on Line 1), and then garbage Copilot's response to that. I typically ignore them because I'm like "hallucination".
But I just saw something that is a whole new level: a garbage prompt and response bleeding from someone else's session (see last three lines). Looks an actual prompt from another user and Copilot's inner monolog to respond. 🥺

I've seen this lots. Niantic doesn't like guerrilla clients for their games, the car companies hate independent clients to query car status and do remote control, etc etc. It’s super-interesting because there are no really effective technical ways to stop this kind of thing, so there are very interesting legal questions, both of to-be-established case-law and enforceability.
