A new study from The University of Texas at El Paso has uncovered how financial incentives may subtly shape officiating decisions in one of America's most iconic institutions: the National Football League. By analyzing more than 13,000 penalty calls from 2015 to 2023, researchers found that postseason officiating has disproportionately favored the Patrick Mahomes-era Kansas City Chiefs, coinciding with their rise as one of the NFL's most marketable franchises.

I wasn't previously aware, but apparently the government is looking, again, at updating the Computer Misuse Act 1990 with proposals to protect researchers. (Although I haven't seen an open consultation since 2023.)

I guess it depends on the language. I use polars heavily with Python. It works really really well. It's not just faster than pandas, it's more ergonomic, more regular, more composable and less quirky.

Unplausible Inbetriebnahmedaten von 1900 bis 2017 wurden durch das Registrierungsdatum der

Liniendiagramm zur kumulierten Anzahl an Balkonkraftwerken in Deutschland von 2018 bis 26.10.2025. Die Linie verläuft bis 2021 fast waagrecht und steigt ab 2022 zunehmend steil an. Ab 2023 zeigt sich ein starker Zuwachs, besonders deutlich ab 2024. Der aktuelle Höchststand liegt bei 1167083 registrierten Anlagen. Die Kurve deutet auf einen anhaltenden Boom hin.
