Did you know that the #UniversityOfGeorgia has TWO sets of Jean Charlot murals on its campus? Charlot hung out on the UGA campus for three years in the early 1940s, teaching and working with students. His murals that were inside what was once UGA's journalism building recently underwent some restoration thanks to our museum and the help of a lot of people from across campus.

It bothers me big time that many Reddit threads are auto-translated to my native language and indexed in search engines.
As someone who frequently searches for highly local knowledge, I find this annoying.
If I search anything in my native language, it usually means "I want to know what my fellows think", and not "I want to read what English-speaking community says, just translated to Polish".
Outside of a few specific exceptions, Reddit in general is such a waste of time and data.

"What comes next? Perhaps it shouldn’t be so hard to imagine, given the drift of what’s now called geoeconomics. Already, China commands global trade, and modeling from Bloomberg shows that, as constituted today, the tariffs will only add to the lead — pushing many more countries to work more with China and less with America. According to one model, 30 percent of American trading partners would fully recover from even total cessation of U.S. trade within one year; within five years, more than half would. "

If the US starts participating in striking Iran the danger for further escalation is great. Because why would Iran in that case not attack oil fields, US bases in the Gulf states? Close the strait of Hormuz? It could then also try to unite everything that is extreme/radical in the muslim world against the US. What is missing is a scenario for de-escalation, also because Netanyahu is not interested in that is my impression.

I spotted this '100 best movies of all time' (maybe most popular/influential, see how they chose them) list via Empire, some I agree with, some I'm disturbed by. Now I can't stop thinking about it. Check the list, agree/disagree? What would YOUR top ones be? I'm gonna throw mine together and see what I get. Can I even come up with 100 that are WORTHY? 😂

Over the past few months, I've been building out a home server that was originally purely to run on-prem LLMs. Since I wanted it to run killer AI, I named it "Delores." Over the weekend, I received a Mac Mini in the mail that I got a good deal on and set it up to augment Dolores. I was trying to figure out what to name it and eventually went with "Teddy."
From my laptop, iPads, etc, I can remote into an Ubuntu VM, Windows VM, or (now) MacOS and do whatever I am looking to do.

Or perhaps it is simply
a reminder of what once was.
There’s not one thing about Sam Lynn that makes sense to the modern fan, Wheeler admitted.
“Is it glitzy? No,” he asked rhetorically.
“Is it entertaining for the people that are there?
Yes. Yes, it is.
Are you going to go blind if you look into the sun?
Yes. But it is wh…
