Today we visited Oyne and Culsamond, two little spots 30 minutes drive west of Aberdeen. Ken's grandparents came from this part of Scotland. We saw his grandfather's home and the church we think he was baptized in. Beautiful part of the world and fun to connect to his story in this way.

Bad news about Zoose.
He collapsed shortly before Christmas, and he’s been in and out of the vet school since then. They have no idea why he collapsed (and he’s not done it again since); but on top of a slightly enlarged pulmonary artery, and unknown markings on his spleen and liver, he has a number of growths in his lung that are almost certainly cancer. He’s started to cough. 1/2

Angel’s Egg (1985)
Absolutely beautiful. Not sure if I understood it, nor do I think I needed to to enjoy it.
The guy next to me in the cinema fell asleep in 3 minutes and slept through most of the movie, fortunately no snoring.
I have mixed feelings about 4K restoration, because while mostly it helped show off the meticulousness of the animation at times where it happened to be only near perfect, proved to be distracting.

There have been numerous disgustingly fake 'nightscape' composites flooding the web where someone had merely pasted a deep astronomical image of comet C/2026 A6 #Lemmon into some landscape, making it look like it was a giant rivalling Ikeya-Seki oder West - oh, how I hated that. And what a relief that NOIRLab has now posted - https://noirlab.edu/public/images/iotw2549a/ - this beautiful and apparently unmanipulated picture of Lemmon over Mauna Kea on 12 November. All worry is laid to waste.
The endorphins rushing wild from the freezing water,
the music pounding through my body,
the caffeine,
the fucking ducks and the God-roiling sky

no what-abouts,

I am made happy,
