Many people asked for the context. This is for college students using what they already know about the order of arithmetic operations to start analyzing the structure of code. In the activity, they visual code structures using these kind of diagrams. The important thing here is thus not just subtraction; it’s this way of visualizing the relationships — and there already is a sight-centeric word, “visualize!” But I suspect a blind reader could also use these spatial relationships as a learning tool…if there were a good way of conveying the spatial relationships.

Just noticed the $25 pencil soldering iron has higher specs than the computer workstations I used in college.

My favourite thing about the monarchy is that it's transparently BS. Like, no one actually believes that the King of England has some sort of divine right to rule over Canada. My first job out of college, I successfully built several high-profile executive darling software projects. I was celebrated for it (someone once use the phrase “white knight,” yikes), which was heady for a 20-something fresh out of college.
Despite that, I don’t think a single one of those projects actually mattered diddly to the company in the long term.
