Er zijn dus nog organisaties waar je per mail een formulier moet aanvragen om je automatische afschrijving via een andere bank te laten lopen. Het formulier krijg je dan thuisgestuurd in een gepersonaliseerde brief en een antwoordenvelop met antwoordnummer! Dat scheelt weer een postzegel.
Nou nog op internet opzoeken waar tegenwoordig nog een brievenbus zit. 🙈🙈

Daarnaast is het totaal aan gemaakte, verzekerde kosten ook alweer hoger dan de totale tweepersoons betaalde premie, dus die hebben we er alweer uit en we kunnen nu de rest van het jaar gratis naar de dokter. I figured at least they seem to have good sense in seeing the value of email for discussion groups. And then while trialing I saw they have a function to summarise email discussions via ChatGPT that is *turned on by default*. I mean, wtaf.
So I'm deciding on self-hosting Mailman. It always seems to come back to self-hosting in the end, doesn't it... which is not nearly easy enough for most people to grapple with.

I didn't want to uninstall thunderbird, and I couldn't remember whether it was an environment variable or a symlink (similar to x-www-browser) or what* that actually selected the preferred mail client. So I brute forced it & just did `cd /usr/bin; mv thunderbird blah; mv claws-mail thunderbird`

I'm quite fond of the issue between the fifth option and the signature it requires, plus the fact that (aside from the zip code and other USPS requirements) this could have looked identical a hundred years ago. No website, email, or phone number. Also note the old convention of two spaces following each period.
