last night i dreampt that is was reading one of my posts, but it was all jibberish. i couldn't remember typing any of it, also i noticed, it contained the words "gwenridge recorder" i don't even know what a "gwenridge recorder" is. unfortunately i awoke before i had chance to search it up. i will do it later if i can be bothered. i made a note of it so i don't forget.

Starting back in on speedrunning _Castlevania: Symphony of the Night_. It's really weird as I'm going from a controller to this fight stick, but I'm slowly getting the movement tech back into muscle memory. It's not quite as important for the initial fight, but I'm also gonna need to work on wing smashes and shield dashing.

Remember that drama laptop? Last night I installed TileOS on it. A very interesting project, with River, Sway, Niri, Qtile etc. available. I opted for Qtile, version 2 (that version is now in testing, 1.3 is production). A quick glance yesterday showed a lot straight up working ootb. And great ricing also. Worth a check ✔️

We have too much snow where I live. Going to the train this morning felt like walking in a maze of snow. The 'true detective 3' feeling. Apparently it has been continuing to snow during the day so now I hope that I'll make it home from the train station

Time to make another bass tab/sheet music, and this time it's for _Wood Carving Partita_ by Michiru Yamane from _Castlevania: Symphony of the Night_. This one is kind of a pain, but it feels really great when you nail a section after picking apart the left-hand from the piano and make it (1) playable on a four string, and (2) move the notes around so it works well with the music overall. Still have a lot of work and tweaking before it's even close to ready.

Okay, getting an early start on preparing for the JoCo cruise in the beginning of 2027 (assuming the world is still here). The overall setup will be the RetroTINK 4K (already owned), a nice 4K OLED portable monitor, and a sturdy MiSTer. I'm excited to see if the RetroTINK 4K works its magic on the portable monitor...even more excited to see if I can get back into running _Castlevania: Symphony of the Night_. We'll see.

I find it harder and harder to lose myself in the computer like I used to. I used to have a glass of wine and compute until 4AM every night of the week.
