We ambled over to Little Theo's for crumbed fish which we proceeded to demolish in a nearby park. It was so hot we almost burned our fingers. Worth it. Delicious.

I’ll just say this: For the very most part, the systems of our society do not reward creators. They reward people who have power over what is created.
A deep part of our society’s mythology is that we reward people with great ideas, people who make great things — and therefore those who are rewarded must somehow be great.
That is false. If you see someone rewarded, the most likely explanation is that they had power to reap rewards.

Bit root is explaining why there will only be 21 million bitcoin.
Block rewards every ten minutes halving every for years is an infinite sum tending to that 21m supply. In fact a few sats less due to rounding errors.
She explains why bit shift in the code is the same as halving due to the way binary number representation works.
The code stops shifting at 64 halvings , despite the fact the reward will be zero after 32. This is since c leaves 64 bits shifted off a 64 bit number as undefined.
But could the code just be changed? No. The source code maintainers could try, but node runners would refuse the update, it being against their financial interests to do so. Even if some nodes did do, you on your own node can resist.
When people created forks with more supply, the market sent it's price to zero.

Prefrontal scaling of reward prediction error readout gates reinforcement-derived adaptive behavior in primates

Abstract: Reinforcement learning (RL) enables adaptive behavior across species via reward prediction errors (RPEs), but the neural origins of species-specific adaptability remain unknown. Integrating RL modeling, transcriptomics, and neuroimaging during reversal learning, we discovered convergent RPE signatures - shared monoaminergic/synaptic gene upregulation and neuroanatomical representations, yet humans outperformed macaques behaviorally. Single-trial decoding showed RPEs guided choices similarly in both species, but humans disproportionately recruited dorsal anterior cingulate (dACC) and dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC). Cross-species alignment uncovered that macaque prefrontal circuits encode human-like optimal RPEs yet fail to translate them into action. Adaptability scaled not with RPE encoding fidelity, but with the areal extent of dACC/dlPFC recruitment governing RPE-to-action transformation. These findings resolve an evolutionary puzzle: behavioral performance gaps arise from executive cortical readout efficiency, not encoding capacity.

Content warning: Machine learning, but positive. Potentially controversial

My controversial take on "AI" ray tracing helpers are that it's a really good idea.
First some background: keep in mind that machine learning tecnologies excell at tasks that have a high reward for success and a small cost for failure. In this case getting most of the rays right improve performance, at the cost of some few rays being shot in nothing.
Secondly, light rays are way too many in real life to be simulated in their entirety, so using some statistics to approximate the lighting model makes a lot of sense here. Plus at the lower quantum scale even phisicists use statistic to explain this stuff, so it's not that irrealistic either.
Finally the source data for this stuff is entirely other games, so ethically sourcing the training data set should not be a concern here.
Here, technology can be good or bad. It's not the tech, it's the use of the tech by the people (but that I mean oligarchic corporations) that makes them good or bad.
