Output of a cut, sort, uniq, sort -n job on an Apache format access_log file. It shows around 30K entries per day on July 1, 2, 3, 4. Then suddenly ramping up to 200K and nearly 400K entries on subsequent days. The extra traffic is all from some asshole's "AI" crawler.
Part of an iptables listing from a Linux server. It shows some of my POLICY_DROP_WEB chains which block abusive traffic to 80,443 from various sources. Two rules added today, one for AS136907 (Huawei Cloud) and one for AS45899 (VNPT) have already blocked around 35,000 requests apiece.

Today in the ISE 2025 lecture on OWL, the Web Ontology Language. Tired of using slide presentations (at temperatures like today and giving the same presentation all over again), I spontaneously decided to design arbitrary OWL ontologies together with the students on the good old blackboard ;-)

This is the main square in Piran, Slovenia, early morning today. Only 10 minutes away, the 22nd Extended Semantic Web Conference ESWC 2025 will take place, starting on Sunday, June 1st, 2025. I'm looking forward to meeting dear colleagues as well as old and new friends, listening to exciting keynotes, great presentations, and many more activities.

This is the main old city sqaure of the pitoresque town or Piran, at the southernmost end of Slovenia. The square is surrounded by historical classicistic buildings. You see the campanile of the church behind those buildings.

Tomorrow, we will dive deeper into ontologies with OWL, the Web Ontology Language. However, I'm doing OWL-lectures now for almost 20 years - and OWL as well as the lecture haven't changed much. So, I'm afraid I'm going to surprise/dissapoint the students tomorrow, when I will switch off the presentation and start improvising a random OWL ontology with them on the blackboard ;-)
