We moved to our neighborhood 7 years ago. Over all that that time I watched people wander across the road in front of the subway station despite the sometimes heavy traffic. I always figured I'd go by one day and see an ambulance or worse. Watching Will Smith’s new show on NatGeo, “Pole To Pole.” It’s quite good, if you like this sort of thing, but what is really amazing me is the camera work. A lot is drone work, but I don’t think there’s a drone that can hold station in hurricane force winds 300 feet up an icewall that almost beat Smith. That was some dude with only one ice pick in the wall because the other hand held a camera. Insane.

I am going dual monitors for work. The docking station that was provided had only one HDMI port, but two DP ports. The problem is all of my monitors have HDMI inputs only. I remembered that last year I bought a DP to HDMI adapter and wondered if that would work.
I plugged it all in and it didn't detect the second monitor. I figured the laptop might need a reboot to detect the change. After the reboot it saw the second monitor.

Like, okay, not great.

5. Take the train to Poznań, and try to figure out what to do next.

The station displays are completely useless, as they show only a random subset of regional trains, for no apparent reason. The announcements include all trains, but are rarely given.
12. The delay keeps increasing. Start thinking about getting a reservation for the next train to Poznań, in case it arrived first. You can't return the reservation after the planned departure time, and you can't have two reservations simultaneously, so reserve the seat from Mogilno, the next station.
13. The next train arrives first. While on board, you discover that you're not going to have any train home for 1.5 hr. Take another seat reservation to Leszno, where you can change into a suburban train and get home 15 minutes earlier than from Poznań. This time, your seat is still free.
14. The train departs 15 minutes delayed from Poznań. After all, you're changing trains in Kościan.
So I was going to go south, to Opole, via Kościan. Instead, I've ended up slingshotting north to Inowrocław, and getting back home via the same train as if I were in Opole.

In our village (pop. 7,000) near Utrecht, the Netherlands, you can't get gasoline or diesel anymore; the last fuel station closed years ago. But for EV drivers, there's around 45 public charging posts, and a bunch of Tesla fast-chargers at the edge of the village, near the highway.

We have too much snow where I live. Going to the train this morning felt like walking in a maze of snow. The 'true detective 3' feeling. Apparently it has been continuing to snow during the day so now I hope that I'll make it home from the train station

To achieve this Exocortex Log is a Progressive Web App. It downloads when you are online at the website and can be installed onto the homepage of your phone.
It keeps all data on the local device using indexdb.
This means you must be responsible for your own backups. Be sure to export and back up your data regularly. I have gaps in my ten year record where my phone was stolen and most recent backup was months prior.
Once installed it will work offline, airplane mode, no internet, down in the tube station at midnight, anywhere.

A while back we subscribed to our local PBS station. PBS has really become awful now. Take, for example the recent ISS episodes of NOVA. TOTAL GARBAGE. Homemade Documentaries does much better work and that's one college-age creator. So we let it lapse. PBS needs a wake up call. rant continues
