Now nobody at all is running my custom software I think, and I have no way to fix the bugs.
Could replace it, but I'm not really paying any attention to the things it measures anyway. Heartrate is too unreliable to be useful and steps seems likely to be counting my leg-jiggles since I tend to hit 10,000 most days without trying or leaving the flat.
The software which tracks my time and mood is probably better running on the phone really. Easier to add notes and detail. Can't really input text from a watch. Location data can be added in ways the watch couldn't.
So back to not wearing a watch at all I think. Who needs it now we all carry pocket watches with internet and telephony.

Morning Jams Continue
As near as I can tell, I did the first of these morning jams on January 27, 2025. If I search on "jam" in my project folder I get 230 tracks, of which I would say about 200 or so are morning jams. They started out as just guitar, then over time I starting adding a drum groove, then a bass part, then synth.

I replaced my ancient phone with a Fairphone 5 and decided to do the ultimate comparison test: how accurate is the GPS when I'm riding my bike? Answer: on a map the tracks are v close but the F5 is consistently better, fewer wobbles. Errors in location mean errors in distance mean errors in speed: this image shows the new speed readings are much more steady. (NB: all speeds above 25 km/h are downhill.)

This week's #ThursDeath is a great promo from earlier this month via Tarragona, Spain's CEREBRAL CURSE. It ended up being too windy to fly drones for long. Instead we recorded street-level images for #panoramax and GPS tracks, in addition to doing a lot of live surveying – using a huge range of tools that allow contributing to OSM!
In no particular order we at least used: @…, @…, @…, @…, HOTOSM's ChatMap, iD and JOSM.
Having so many different ways of making contributions is a real feature.
