Die USA ziehen sich unter Präsident Trump erneut aus der Organisation der Vereinten Nationen für Erziehung, Wissenschaft und Kultur (UNESCO) zurück. Das gab die Regierung in Washington bekannt. Die USA waren erst vor zwei Jahren wieder beigetreten. Der neue Austritt soll im Dezember 2026 vollzogen werden.

Das Schloss Neuschwanstein wird ins Weltkulturerbe aufgenommen. Das hat die zuständige UNESCO-Kommission in Paris entschieden. Auch die weiteren Schlösser des bayerischen Königs Ludwig II. in Herrenchiemsee, Linderhof sowie das Königshaus am Berg Schachen wurden dem Welterbe-Verzeichnis hinzugefügt.
