This weekend has been mostly crap. Lots of pain, spent too much time horizontal. Burned my hand. Partner had a really rough day yesterday. I grew up in a small village in England and heard cuckoos basically every year I was in primary and walking to school.
But the first time I actually saw one was about 18 years ago and in Denmark. Haven't heard one for years and then all of a sudden this weekend...

Finished up our flower planting from last weekend to take my mind off of things.
Didn’t really work, so I instead spent my Friday evening being productive and beginning inquiries to both DMM (daily money management - i.e. bill pay) and GCM (geriatric care management) providers.
Both parents are falling apart and my sister an I are trying to be proactive. We’re not in any crisis yet, but it’s safe to say the storm clouds are gathering.

On my walk this weekend I went past this abandoned mansion, built by a Victorian stockbroker in the 1860s. You can barely see it from the track but the whole place is falling into ruin.
