I'm not ok. The world seems not ok. But community is important and there is still value in doing things just because. Blinky lights are fun, so last weekend I helped wire some controller boxes for an upcoming Burning Man project (maybe unscruz too?)
(and I've just realized that I don't know the project's name or if it has one...)

I dunno about you all, but I spent the long weekend reading.
Highly recommend both books for those looking for a different, less heard perspective on US colonialism, racism, and the for-profit prison and concentration camp systems.
They're fictional escapes from a nonfiction world that can feel too out of control, but they also fill you up with drive to change things and empower you for the fight ahead.

Almost exactly 2 years ago when it was below -16°C.
This was a real cool experience - literally.

To nasz przedostatni weekend na kamperstopie w Marina di Ragusa przed wyruszeniem na północ. Coroczne rozpoczęcie migracji wraz z ptakami i pogodą. Pierwsze i tak pojedziemy na północną część Sycylii. Dwa lata temu dojechaliśmy "tylko" do Palermo i dalej płynęliśmy na Sardynię, natomiast w tym chcieliśmy pozwiedzać środkową część wyspy i północne wybrzeże od Cefalù na wschód.

This past weekend we were in Toronto celebrating our granddaughter's 10th birthday (they grow up so fast...) and while consuming homemade cake we were discussing the recently completed #Olympics. The controversy in the #Curling competition came up and my son-in-law mentioned it was like another Broomgate.
I had forgotten about Broomgate which is understandable because I've watched about 8 minutes of curling in my 6 decades on the planet. Broomgate was a technological leap in the sport of curling that came to the attention of non-curlers, 99.9% of the world's population, during the 2015–16 season. New brush head technologies from a new company caused an uproar as sweepers gained far more control over a sliding chunk of granite. Traditionalists cried foul, or whatever they yell after tossing their stones. It resulted in a World Curling Federation summit to regulate and standardize brushes in the sport.
