Ein paar Eindrücke einer Palästina Demonstration in Hannover bei der Ich mit der Linksjugend ['solid] teilgenommen habe.

#WeirdCarMastodon this is Chris Obert’s “Salty Santa Cruz finish” Fiat 124 sedan. It won an award at last year’s Concours d’Lemons. I’m told that it rusted top down and the underside and mechanicals are fine, but it looks like it could fall apart at any moment… Seen at Saturday’s annual Fiat America club picnic. We had a great time with friends we’ve known for 25yrs.

I rode 11.8 miles today. Went to Firefly Grove Park in Wauwatosa where they have a pump track and talked to two of the guys using it.
One really wanted me to try, and offered his bike as well, but after riding there uphill most of the way for 4 miles I said "I'll just watch you guys!" so I did.
I did ride on the smaller part of the track, and I can see the appeal, with the right bike.

Too little sleep, too hot, stagnant air with no breeze, and definitely rudely humid. When it became clear what a struggle this would be, I opted to run for HR zones instead. This included several walking breaks to bring my HR back down. My fitness needs the work.

3 years after car-free JFK/Overlook/Middle/MLK was made permanent, the signage for the non-JFK parts of the route is still so bad. No one but us nerds knows a car-free path to the beach even exists!
There should be a big banner on this overpass telling you to turn left then right. Instead there’s a tiny sign no one will see and even if you do it’s unclear (this isn’t “slow streets,” it’s car-free!)

Selbst das Regenwetter konnte viele Anwohner:innen des Kiezes rund um Euler- und Jülicher Straße nicht vom Feiern rund um den Pizzaofen abhalten. Aus einer öden Parkplatzwüste ist hier ein Ort für die ganze Nachbarschaft entstanden.

Man, it took me a while to warm up to Costco, but it's really is one of the better corners of capitalism. They pay people fairly, sell only quality stuff, didn't disavow DEI, and aren't owned and run by hedge fund assholes.
It's amazing how nice it is not to have to evaluate every purchase. If it is there, it's usually because it has been proven to make customers happy and thus earned its shelf space.
And, no surprise, the CEO dogfoods himself.

I put together this bumblebee made out of mini blocks a couple weekends ago. VERY tough with my big dumb hands. These bricks are TINY - see 3rd photo with quarter. Maybe the toughest thing I've ever built. Didn't give up! But if the flowers are that small, HOW HUGE IS THAT BEE?!? 😂

This grassy field has always been a beautiful buffer between the river and the train tracks that service the local waste management company that owns it. This time of year, wildflowers and butterflies are everywhere and it’s one of the highlights on this part of the greenway.
This week, I’ve noticed it’s suddenly begun to accumulate vintage fire and rescue vehicles. I don’t know what to make of it, but I hope it’s temporary.

The new 'Commodore 64' is quite obviously just an Ultimate 64 in a transparent case. If you don't already have one of those, and you wanted one already, it's probably worth buying the new offering just to get the mechanical keyboard. Real C64 keyboards are absolutely awful.
