Y’know. I really LIKE Safari.
But here’s the thing: I LOVE having alternatives. There was a point where I was running like 7 different browsers and my fave was “OmniWeb”.
I want there to be good alternatives this constant Tech Decay (“enshittification”) of all the browsers out there. JFC. Just make a browser that works and protects people’s privacy. That seems like it would give you plenty to do already.
What are some good (simple!) options for automagically posting RSS stuff on the Fediverse?
This works with Mastodon well enough, but I'd love a list of alternatives.

I’ve been discouraged lately to see attacks on DEI work on social media and even by certain governments. It’s based on a fundamental lack of understanding of why the work is important. The naysayers claim that DEI results in the best candidates being overlooked in favour of underqualified alternatives.

I'm still wondering what would be the best approach towards unique #eMail addresses with my domain.
For a long time, I've been using the " " approach with #GMail but that sucks because:
• A fair number of sites reject e-mail addresses containing a " ", and at this point it's no longer a matter of copy-pasting poor snippets, but people explicitly blocking cheap unique addresses.
• It's quite obvious, and so people can easily take the "base" address out of it.
I'm considering three alternatives:
1. The catch-all, or opt-out approach — just grab mail from all possible addresses. Easy to set up, and lets me dynamically get unique addresses with no effort. On the minus side, it's going to get lots of #spam, and I'll end up having to block a lot of commonly used usernames.
2. Prefixed catch-all — grab mail from all possible addresses starting with a specific prefix. Somewhat similar to the " " approach, except without special characters and less obvious. Would combine being able to quickly make new addresses up, while filtering out most of the generic spam. On the minus side, I don't think most of the mail providers would actually support something like that.
3. Explicit addresses, or opt-in approach — create aliases explicitly whenever I need one. Lots of work, but probably the cleanest solution. I'd probably also have to have a handful of "free" aliases on me, in case I needed to quickly give someone a unique e-mail address.

Who Followed the Blueprint? Analyzing the Responses of U.S. Federal Agencies to the Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights

Abstract: This study examines the extent to which U.S. federal agencies responded to and implemented the principles outlined in the White House's October 2022 "Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights." The Blueprint provided a framework for the ethical governance of artificial intelligence systems, organized around five core principles: safety and effectiveness, protection against algorithmic discrimination, data privacy, notice and explanation about AI systems, and human alternatives and fallback.
Through an analysis of publicly available records across 15 federal departments, the authors found limited evidence that the Blueprint directly influenced agency actions after its release. Only five departments explicitly mentioned the Blueprint, while 12 took steps aligned with one or more of its principles. However, much of this work appeared to have precedents predating the Blueprint or motivations disconnected from it, such as compliance with prior executive orders on trustworthy AI. Departments' activities often emphasized priorities like safety, accountability and transparency that overlapped with Blueprint principles, but did not necessarily stem from it.
The authors conclude that the non-binding Blueprint seems to have had minimal impact on shaping the U.S. government's approach to ethical AI governance in its first year. Factors like public concerns after high-profile AI releases and obligations to follow direct executive orders likely carried more influence over federal agencies. More rigorous study would be needed to definitively assess the Blueprint's effects within the federal bureaucracy and broader society.

Exploring Eco-Friendly Gas Mixtures for Resistive Plate Chambers: A Comprehensive Study on Performance and Aging
Resistive Plate Chambers (RPCs) are gaseous detectors widely used in high energy physics experiments, operating with a gas mixture primarily containing Tetrafluoroethane (C$_{2}$H$_{2}$F$_{4}$), commonly known as R-134a, which has a global warming potential (GWP) of 1430.
