I haven't been posting much lately...
Over the weekend one of our cats had to go do the emergency vet due to crystals blocking his urinary tract. An x-ray then showed kidney stones and he needed surgery.
He's back home recovering, on drugs, not happy about the cone, making a mess of everything, and we're thankful we could save his life.
I mean, we are now broke, in credit card debt, and canceling next years holiday, but, hey... cats! We love 'em!

When the prison closed in 1971, a colony of cats lived inside. When restoration began, the cats were captured and neutered, thus causing them eventually to die off. Artist Linda Brenner sculpted 39 cat sculptures, which surround the property. The sculptures were purposefully made of a material that slowly dissolves over time to represent the inevitable natural decay that faces all living things.

In my cat Strider's idiolect, a voiced uvular trill means "I REALLY want $thing" where $thing is probably (but not always) food.
A simple 'ÆW!' means "gimme that," but when followed by ʀʀʀʀʀʀʀʀʀʀ it indicates particular urgency and focus toward the item (generally sausage) in question.

A tuxedo cat asleep (lying sideways) on top of a white fuzzy window sill cat perch. She takes up only half the perch. Next to her, a thin white cable cover about 18in long (just the open channel itself, not the base that mounts to the wall) is also on the perch. The way she's laying, facing towards the camera, with her front paws/legs over the cable cover, it looks as if she's spooning with it; she's big spoon, the cable cover is small spoon.

A silver fridge with french doors, of which one door is open. A tabby cat (Twig) sits inside the fridge, facing out but with his head turned around looking up into the items in the fridge. His butt is on the inside floor of the fridge, and his front paws are on the top of the freezer door. Partially visible is a mix of typical fridge food (mayo, ketchup, whipped cream, miso, open cat food, salsa, etc).
Same fridge and same cat (sitting in the same spot), but this time zoomed in a little further and the cat is looking towards the camera. He has one ear forward and one ear off to the side, with a disbelieving expression on his face.
