The cat litter experiment was successful. I covered the shoes in it for the night*, took them out the next day and the stench was gone. I wasn't able to get it out by washing and scrubbing multiple times.
* For the record, I've used a fresh bag of cat litter.
Cat litter has a few advantages over, say, baking soda: it's easily available in large quantities, it's easy to pour out afterwards, and you can put it in the litter box afterwards.

My kid picked up a (metal) cat-shaped cookie cutter. They discovered that eggs can be fried in it, resulting in cat-shaped eggs.
My wife was making cat-eggs and had leftover raw egg she offered to me.

Since two weeks we have another rescue cat. Please welcome three years old Theodore. Its former owner suffered from dementia and unfortunately had to give up taking care of. He currently is getting used to the house and our resident senior Kasimir. Upcoming Monday he will see the vet and probably shortly afterwards we let him go discovering our entire property. #caturday

Orange cat vs stink bug

A white and tabby cat lies on a human who's sitting back on a bed as she was very tired after work (the human, not the cat). The cat's back feet obscure the rest of it but you can make out cat ears either side and a bit of tabby tail. It's not the best photo as I had to hold Sparky up with my right hand and wrangle my phone with my left and keep the silly case out of the way, which I didn't quite manage to do. Anyway toebeans.

Ruh is a typical chestcat. She loves sleeping on my chest, given that either I'm wearing something or I'm covered by a blanket. She won't lie on it if I'm covered by a quilt. However, she doesn't mind lying on a quilt without anyone under it. She doesn't like my lap particularly; I have to lean back enough so she could place her front feet on my belly.
Mr Ek is a lapcat. He would gladly lie on my lap when I'm sitting. If I'm lying down, he also prefers the area of my knees.
Lulu is an universalcat. She will gladly lie down both on my lap, and on my chest. And if my chest is occupied, she's ready to lie down almost on my head, just to have the dominant position.

Oh no 😭

I don't think my cat is used to her automatic feeder yet. Video shows a black cat sniffing an empty automatic feeder bowl from the point of view of the feeder cam. The timer goes off and it starts dispensing food, but not without scaring the void kitty so much she jumps backwards halfway across the room. She pops her head up to watch the machine finish spitting out food, but decides not to eat just yet, lest it attack her. Poor kitty

I've painted the utility room! And myself a bit. Gone is sickly peach and in is a startlingly bright and fresh green. It wasn't my first choice but it's turned out to be exactly right. Recently a new #cat started walking through the neighborhood. Since he tends to be singing while he's walking, I provisionally named him Jaskier (for the Witcher character, lit. buttercup, though renamed to Dandelion in translation).
So Jaskier is sitting below the window, singing. Ruh 🐱 is sitting behind the mosquito net, in an open window, and twittering back at him. He jumps on the outer windowsill, a distance away from her (i.e. behind the closed window panel). She shouts at him.

I should buy a boa– i mean, meow!

Three photos of an orange cat sitting like a human in a chair while their leg sticks forward as they look around. Goofball 😹
