Somehow we all agree about the importance of history in our society. We teach it to our younger ones, we quote it in our speeches, we talk about it during our dinners. My son is in Ontario on Remembrance Day (our name for Armistice Day in Canada) for the first time and he was shocked it wasn’t a public holiday like it is in B.C.
He was disappointed to be in Ottawa, just a few minutes away from the National War Memorial by metro, but couldn’t attend because he has classes today.
I agree with him. It is very strange that this day, of all days, is not a national day.
So instead he rushed through his class so he could at least get to the small ceremony held on campus.
How sad that there is so little time and space made for it in our largest and most populous province.
Even in our nation’s capital.

So incredibly angry at Mark Carney, who I thought, with all his UN "climate tzar" cred, would be able to bridge the divide between industry and co2 emissions.
Turns out, he is just an oily vassal for complete climate and carbon capitulation.
Alberta's oil industry is "very happy" acording to Alberta Premier Smith's Chief of Staff.
It's full steam ahead for carbon emissions. They have what they believe is a green light for massive growth.

It would be like Putin saying he got Zelenskyy to back down on Donbas and Crimea, but Zelenskyy says Putin agreed to security guarantees from Russia and the USA.

Housing policy in BC finally starting to bear fruit:
"Rental prices seem to be taking a dip in B.C. as the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) released its 2025 Rental Market Report, which showed that Greater Victoria’s vacancy rate rose to 3.3 per cent, the highest it’s been since 1999…. The report noted that the steepest rent declines are focused in B.C. and Ontario, with B.C. being host to seven of of the top 15 cities recording the largest annual rent declines for apartments.”
