Anybody out there who uses DigitalOcean cloud services, beware a phishing email telling you you've got an invoice for 'Support Services' that is DigitalOcean branded - check the URL of the payment button (which reveals a sham domain name when you hover over it).
From my LinkedIn post: “Telling your dev team to use AI coding tools is like telling your 2010 ops team to use AWS. They didn’t know how to code, they were ticket and click-it VMware people… developers who don’t have product management mindset or have never managed a dev team will fail by trying to micromanage the output of the tool rather than specifying the outcome of the product and managing the agent team to deliver that outcome.”

Another excellent thread from @… I especially agree with this bit:
"The EU needs to get the *hell* off US tech infrastructure. Under Trump, Big Tech and the US government have stopped even pretending that American tech companies are independent of the US government. We know (from China) that Apple will happily backdoor its cloud servers to assuage authoritarian governments"
Not easy for even a motivated person to achieve without a lot of help though. Yet.

pluralistic@mamot.fr - Apple has threatened to stop selling iPhones and other devices in the European Union (home to over 500,000,000 affluent consumers) if the bloc doesn't rescind the Digital Markets Act, a democratically accountable anti-monopoly law that bans Apple from blocking third parties from offering services to iPhone owners:

Fortunately there's another app that still does the job.

I continue to be amazed that anyone uses Amazon AWS, or Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Services. Only someone who's very happy to completely lock their business into a 3rd party proprietary stack they don't control, and loves paying 20x (2000%!) more than reasonable commodity infrastructure rates would do so. I'm amazed that these businesses are even viable. Just goes to show how much flab most corporations have. They're ripe for disruption and displacement.
