All that talk you hear about "increased personal consumption"? It's being driven by the rise in healthcare spending & costs.
i.e. You're spending more because healthcare's more expensive.

I get cranky about the price of a hot dog in an airport. Seeing those Gucci and Swarovski shops turns me positively French Revolution. Such ridiculously conspicuous consumption.
For some reason, my home server was using the "performance" CPU scaling governor. Changing it to "conservative" seems to have lowered power consumption for the whole machine by almost 10%. This saves more than 25€ per year in electricity cost.
You can check your own CPU scaling governor with `cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_governor`.

We live in an age of disposable context. We scroll through the infinite ribbon of the glass screen, pausing only for a microsecond to register a flicker of recognition before sliding our thumb upward, condemning the moment to the digital abyss. We have been trained by the Technocrats, those right-brained architects of our algorithmic prisons, to view this behavior as consumption.

A lot of people will call shunning Amazon, Meta, etc "purity politics". According to them, since no company is perfect, we should just give up having lines, since there is no ethical consumption under capitalism.
Alternatively, it can be seen as exercising whatever little direct power we have, as individuals, to stop funding the machines that are killing us and making us poorer. It's not enough, but it's certainly a start.

Abstract: Optical kernel machines offer high throughput and low latency. A nonlinear optical kernel can handle complex nonlinear data, but power consumption is typically high with the conventional nonlinear optical approach. To overcome this issue, we present an optical kernel with structural nonlinearity that can be continuously tuned at low power. It is implemented in a linear optical scattering cavity with a reconfigurable micro-mirror array. By tuning the degree of nonlinearity with multiple scattering, we vary the kernel sensitivity and information capacity. We further optimize the kernel nonlinearity to best approximate the parity functions from first order to fifth order for binary inputs. Our scheme offers potential applicability across photonic platforms, providing programmable kernels with high performance and low power consumption.

Abstract: With the aim of meeting the worlds net-zero objectives, electricity trading through contractual agreements is becoming increasingly relevant in global and local energy markets. We develop contracts enabling efficient energy trading using Vehicle to Everything technology which can be applied to regulate energy markets and reduce costs and carbon emissions by using electric vehicles with bidirectional batteries to store energy during offpeak hours for export during peak hours. We introduce a contract based on the VCG mechanism which enables fleets of electric vehicles to export electricity to the grid efficiently throughout the day, where each electric vehicle has its energy consumption and exporting schedules and costs.

1) I don't know if the clock dividers were the problem or not, but I'm seeing weird behavior with the QSPI flash randomly not working properly sometimes.
2) Possibly related: power consumption of the board seems to vary /- 20% from one reset to another. This is an enormous variation, no I do not currently have an explanation.

Massachusetts is about to see major savings from clean energy. A new analysis shows the state's SMART 3.0 solar-plus-storage program could save ratepayers $313 million annually by 2030.
The key? Pushing out inefficient natural gas plants, cutting reliance on fossil fuels during winter, and slashing 1.6 million metric tons of CO2 per year.
