So, made the CMPTR breakout board, got RGB into the TV and all of the colors were very, very dim. Even cranking the brightness to 100% didn't solve the issue, and the picture was then slightly brighter and washed out. Spent a ton of time troubleshooting the board and got to the point where there was no obvious issue with the signal going into the TV.
Decided to sleep on the problem and attacked it today where I realized what the issue was: the Picture setting was at the minimum. …

I flooded the bathroom here in Hungary. The new TV came in and it has been beat to absolute hell. The TV itself is now slightly out-of-square, the front bezel was shattered (the top bit is kinda just stuck there as is the left-hand side), and the outer shell is pretty bent.
However, the tube is perfect and the TV is 100% functional (composite and S-video) which is absolute insanity. I'm not sure how I want to proceed on this one.

Tried Wayland Plasma 6 on openSUSE on a ThinkPad P14s G5 AMD last night:
-Firefox doesn't render properly
-TrackPoint is nearly unusably twitchy and doesn't respond to speed/acceleration settings
