Irked because my watch showed 7.5 km (not that I was looking at it desperately or anything…) 😉
An afternoon meeting prevented my running in daylight on the greenway, so I headed over to one of the high schools to use their track. (My favorite track at the middle school is still all torn apart for some sort of culvert work. 😤)
One end is all pine trees and the fragrant smell each lap was lovely.
4/1 minute run/walk intervals for 7.46 km in 57:43, average pace of 7:44/km.

Where was I?
So this only happens with real chromium dioxide. It’s a very noticeable smell.
A lot of “chrome” tapes were actually cobalt ferrite (Japanese manufacturers switched to that all the way back in the 1970s) and this is an easy way you can instantly tell what your type II tape is made of.

Lately I make a point to point out olfactory impressions which are more common in human areas (though it's impolite to tell people you can smell the tomato sauce on their pasta 40 feet away) -- these are much less common in the woods but this area in Shindagin Hollow has a definite scent of pine

I love this painting, because you can almost smell the soil. The wire on the fence, and the nettles in front, give a striking composition against the view behind the garden. Then you realise when it was painted.

I got a 9" LCD panel and HDMI board from AliExpress to put in the Mac SE/30 case. The other screen I have is a 1/4" too wide so I can't close the case up. It just arrived and I unboxed it. First, it smells. Second, it has a mini HDMI plug, and I don't have an adapter. Second problem easily fixed, part will be here tomorrow. But why does it smell like chemicals? Hopefully it airs out over the next few hours or something.

The timer just went off and things only smell vaguely burnt - the grading must finally be done!

Temperatures start dropping below freezing. Christmas lights pop up like mushrooms.

My morning so far has been spent disassembling the tumble dryer and vacuuming everything in sight. A suspicious burning smell led to us pulling the big red lever earlier!
It has been running for 10 minutes now, and so far, so good. We'll be watching the dryer with great interest the next few times we're using it..
