Getting slightly cooler here, so that means (occasional) record buying season. Didn't make it out to a store in person for Record Store Day this year (and I rarely do), but I did order a RSD exclusive to be delivered and it just arrived.

PSG edged out Barca in a close, exciting match and I am thrilled and celebrating by staying up late (imma try, anyway!) and spinning jazzy disks, starting with Sun Ra!
Did you know, according to Wikipedia the Sun Ra discography is one of the largest in music history and this is (a repressing of) his very first studio album, from 1957.
I don't really like it, ha ha! (My son gave it to me.) Maybe I'll trade it in and make space on the shelf.

Hi everyone,
Here is one from the archives: a piece I was asked to create for Chris Levine’s 2010 exhibition 'Stillness at the Speed of Light' - a collaboration between him and Grace Jones at The Vinyl Factory, London.
This 26-minute "dub" is very ambient/atmospheric, built from elements of the title track of her 2008 album 'Hurricane', to which I had contributed production.

Happy #Halloween to all those Canadians who enjoy dressing up, and today it's totally normal. But remember, don't go into the old shed with all the sharp farm tools.
Today, I am sharing one of my favourite radio episodes narrated by the late Stuart McLean. For 20 years, #TheVinylCafe radio show aired weekly on CBC Radio and was written and hosted by the late McLean. The radio show featured stories are about Dave, owner of a secondhand record store called "The Vinyl Cafe", and also starred Dave's wife, Morley, their two children, Sam and Stephanie, and assorted other characters. If you fondly remember The Vinyl Cafe, then this episode may spark a memory. If this is your first exposure, I warn you that you may crave more.
I first heard this episode in the lead up to Halloween over a decade ago. It's about a man who is terrorized by his sister's doll, in his youth, and into manhood.

I have a lot of devices (~15) on my home wifi network. Around me are also 10-15 neighboring wifi networks as well as nearly 30 bluetooth devices of various origins.
I find it incredibly funny that using wireless bluetooth headphones throws me back to the vinyl record days where you hear constant popping, cracking and skipping.
All this fancy technology just to come full circle. 😄
Luckily, my particular pair came with an optional wire. 🎧
