Carleman approximation on Riemann surfaces without critical points
We present the class of semi-admissible subsets of an open Riemann surface on which Carleman approximation by non-critical holomorphic functions is possible. In particular we characterize closed sets with empty interior on which continuous functions can be approximated by non-critical holomorphic ones. We also consider a different approach, which in some cases gives uniform approximation by non-critical holomorphic functions on more general sets than semi-admissible ones.

Empty runner removal theorem for Ariki-Koike algebras
For the Iwahori-Hecke algebras of type $A$, James and Mathas proved a theorem which relates $v$-decomposition numbers for different values of $e$, by adding empty runners to the James' abacus display. This result is often referred to as the empty runner removal theorem. In this paper, we extend this theorem to the Ariki-Koike algebras, establishing a similar relationship for the $v$-decomposition numbers.

Kottwitz suggested to study all extended pure inner forms together in the local Langlands correspondence for linear reductive groups. We extend this philosophy to a large class of covers, including those defined by Brylinski and Deligne, and explain its relation with Weissman's observation that L-packets for covers are sometimes empty.

We show that the Carathéodory number for $H$-convexity is the maximum of two parameters: the Helly number for $H$-convexity and the cone number of $H$.
