This is not a unique story. I saw this happen to a friend of mine in the Upper Fillmore 20 years ago; I've read this story repeatedly. Perhaps it's time to look at more than just asking landlords to move more quickly? A host of options come to mind: A fast track lane for permits, a revolving fund for financial assistance, and requirements on PG&E on the incentive side; perhaps eminent domain into small sites for a stick?

We have a few mostly-dormant WordPress blogs and static sites, a bunch of identity-supporting DNS records, and that's about it. Nothing very high-traffic, should be an easy ask. Would prefer something that demonstrates resilience and stability by having been around a few years.

The tsunami of tech spilling from China’s factories has changed the country’s energy landscape—and its physical one, too. For decades China’s development was synonymous with coal, which produced choking air pollution and massive carbon emissions, still greater than those of all other developed nations combined. Now, solar panels carpet deserts and the high, sunstruck plateau of Tibet, and wind turbines up to 300m tall guard coastlines and hilltops

For centuries, people believed ice was slippery because pressure and friction melted a thin film of water.
But new research from Saarland University reveals that this
long-standing explanation is wrong.
Instead, the slipperiness comes from the subtle interaction of molecular dipoles between ice and surfaces like shoes or skis.
These microscopic electrical forces disorder the crystal structure of ice,

Many years ago I was working with a friend to find a bug in a Makefile generator. We had a megabyte or so of Makefile we needed to examine. He was an emacs user. It took him minutes just to open the file. I was using sam. It took about a second for sam to load, and I found the problem before he'd even finished loading the file.
The speed of tools matters, and big files are common nowadays. Things should stay fast as their workload grows. That goes double for interactive tools.
By the way, it still takes me 30 seconds to log in to my bank. I wonder how long it will take when it's an LLM-generated landing page.
