The UK experienced its warmest year on record in 2025, according to the latest State of the UK Climate report, which says the country's climate has warmed by about 0.25C per decade since the 1980s.

I biked out to where the bridge has been out on Campbell Drive in Menomonee Falls this morning and talked to a work who said they hope to have the work complete in a few weeks...

Once it's back in business I'll be able to bike a bit further north near work.

We are seeing a split of math into roughly two groups, let’s call them AI-open and AI-closed.
The AI-closed community does not want anything to do with this. They want to preserve mathematics as it always has been, an expression of human creativity, etc.
Consequently, everything with AI in it is tainted. They don’t referee papers with any AI contribution, don’t submit to journals who accept AI-infused papers, don’t work with grant agencies that are AI-open, etc.

ca. 80% der Cores und jedesmal vorher geschaut, dass nicht wer anders gerade viele Cores braucht, und alles "1-shot" ohne dass ich da noch hätte eingreifen wollen. Ich hab das alles nur mit erstaunen beobachtet.
Die meisten Mathematiker*innen sind nicht so gute Software-Entwickler*innen. Ich auch nicht. Wir schreiben keine Dokus oder Tests.
Hier ist großes Potential, dass wir lernen, wie Dinge eigentlich gemacht werden sollten und dann noch bessere experimentelle Mathematik machen! 2/2

Gerade hat einer von denen ein Computeralgebra-Experiment für mich durchgeführt und dazu komplett über ssh auf einem Rechner mit vielen Cores irgendwo in der Uni ein Projektverzeichnis angelegt, 1023 Skripte, alle nötigen Julia-Pakete lokal installiert, python natürlich weil alles veraltet auf dem SUSE-Linux host, das Experiment durchgeführt unter Nutzung von nur ... 1/2
