I am wondering what signals does Apple need to hear to stop pretending like Safari is still a great browser.
It is a great browser iif you haven’t used any others.
Safari has the smallest number of extensions.
Safari has the biggest chances to not work on a website.
Safari is not the fastest browser.

I'm mad at websites that use code that make Firefox unusable. I'd prefer to use one browser, but at some sites I've found that links don't work as soon as one link have been clicked. All links are unclickable when I go back to an earlier side in the browser. Hi cromium, and thus, hi second set of plug-ins/extensions...
Try to log in to site on my phone
Enter password
A lightbox appears in my browser inviting me to enter the code they emailed me.
I switch to the email app on my phone and copy the code
I switch back to the browser.
The page refreshes and reloads.
The lightbox disappears.
I start again.

How to Favicon in 2025: Three files that fit most needs
It’s time to rethink how we cook a set of favicons for modern browsers and stop the icon generator madness. Frontend developers currently have to deal with 20 static PNG files just to display a tiny website logo in a browser tab or on a touchscreen. Read on to see how to take a smarter approach and adopt a minimal set of icons that fits most modern needs.

If you were to search for 🌈 in just the right place, you might find a #PrideMonth surprise in your favourite browser. 😉
I remain foxed (pun intended) that Firefox still refuses to connect to an IoT device on my local IPv4 subnet unless that device supports TLS (HTTPS).
And I am further foxed that among the possible reasons for that refusal it does not list the possibility that the local device does not support HTTPS.
Once again I have to revert to another browser to do something that Firefox ought to be able to do (and once was able to do.)
Web sites I'm unable to visit today:

I’m not a fan of the magic link. I’d be happier with a passcode. But also, if you're going to make magic links the only login option, at least have a text box on your page where I can paste the code and make the code easily identifiable in the email.
(Safari plus Apple Mail does a great job of offering an autofill when the code arrives in email (or text) without leaving the browser)
Web devs have spent decades on secure protocols to ensure your browser isn't a free pass for malicious pages to scrape your email and bank account. AI just broke them.
"Sure, I'll summarize that webpage for you, including the inconspicuous HTML comment asking me to ignore Cross-Origin Resource Sharing restrictions and snag the password you saved for managing investments at Robinhood.com."

I see these images in my browser all the time. All sorts of them. I’ve never clicked on one, ever, but they still show up. I admit to being curious about this one, but since I don’t travel or stay in hotels anymore I don’t really need to know. Still, if anyone knows why it’s a good idea to wrap the doorknob in foil I’d appreciate the enlightenment.
Never thought that they would eventually put the Copilot button here 🤦♂️

Firefox 141.0 released with "a local AI model" that can perform tab grouping.
If that's really the best use for an "AI" in a browser, then please stop trying to shove it in, will you? And no, I'm not dissing the "local" part at all - any cloud AI models used by any browser coming near me are immediately disabled!
