(Though there's no CI infra actually working anymore. Makes testing contributions painful. Wonder whether building that first would be worthwhile & welcome...)

We were always a problem for the ones above: we had the opportunity to enjoy high levels of education, access to relatively free & unpolluted knowledge, and welfare systems that worked relatively well for at least half of our lifes.
That was unacceptable, and "AI" is here to fix that.
Big Tech and their fascist friends have convinced many among our younger generations about the idea that "AI" (in its current form) is cool, amazing, necessary, and unstoppable.
We can resist all we want, except it's not our resistance that matters, but the resistance of the younger ones who haven't finished their formal studies yet.
Mozilla's CEO knows it... so he'll happily contribute to dumb us down as much as possible (before anyone has time to react) to ensure that we don't bother ever again the fragile sensibilites of his friends, our capitalist overlords.

I think it's fair to say that projects left behind there aren't really free/open source.. I find that noteworthy because I'm going back to the time tracker I enjoyed using until 2018, when due to the project announcing EoL (IIRC) I switched to charmtimetracker.
Now that too is EoL since 2023, but hamster development did continue after 2018, so hey, could have saved myself a lot of annoyance by sticking with the software I like and patching it up where needed.

But there's a lot of young people who don't have problems with images like these which show wrong things, make up stuff that's weird, look creepy and misspell text.

@migueldeicaza@mastodon.socialOne reason why La Terminal doesn’t encourage tmux for session preservation or mosh is their low fidelity terminal rendering, so I use a tiny “keep the session open” instead. It is a small binary I bundle with LaTerminal.
To get the best of both worlds, I cooked my own “tmux” built on top of headless SwiftTerm, so I get high fidelity rendering - but deploying it seems like an uphill battle:

But while I love Rust, I do not love it for app building, and I wanted to have that HTML-model for programming but available in Swift.
I used assorted AI tools to port Tauri to Swift (it still reuses the big chunks of code from Tauri), but now you can write HTML desktop apps in Swift:
