"Yet what matters isn’t the specific phrases, but the overall message: Donald Trump now genuinely lives in a different reality, one in which neither grammar nor history nor the normal rules of human interaction now affect him. Also, he really is maniacally, unhealthily obsessive about the Nobel Prize.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee, not the Norwegian government and certainly not the Danish government, determines the winner of that prize. Yet Trump now not only blames Norway for failing to give it to him, but is using it as a justification for an invasion of Greenland."

Oh wow; @… on Tested with Adam Savage, showing off her pop-up book Alphabet in Motion.
This is the first I've really seen of the book other than the Kickstarter updates, and it looks amazing.
Pretty sure my copy is on the way.
What an accomplishment!
There have been few regularly recurring disappointments in my teaching career quite like realizing yet again that an otherwise good student can't figure out how to make it all the way through the process of finding a book in the university library catalogue, locating a physical copy on the shelf, and, finally, checking it out.
Some years back my wife made the front page of the Wall St. Journal. They did a piece about how she made up fake data (names, locations, dates, CV, etc) to feed to social media in order to disrupt data linking.
We are one of the few places that has a paper copy of the highly prescient HEW report from 1973 that warned of the dangers of the now ubiquitous practice of data linking.
"Records, Computers and the Rights of Citizens: Report of the HEW Advisory Committee on Automate…
"Why is the Trump White House pushing Ukraine to accept a Russian plan that paves the way for another war? The document offers some hints, declaring that the U.S. would also somehow take charge of the $100 billion in frozen Russian assets, for example, supposedly to invest this money in Ukraine and receive “50% of the profits from this venture.” Europeans, whose banks actually hold most of these assets, would receive nothing."
Few things make me more pissed off than a "web page" where I cannot select and then copy the text... the fucking text! Arggghh!
I became a programmer because I found it much easier to program computers than to talk to people. Why would anyone in their sane mind claim that I'd be better off talking in human language to machines that pretend to be the kind of smug humans who have no clue about coding, but are going to fulfill all the assignments given by me by googling and copy-pasting whatever they can find?!

I decided it would be "fun" to install Koffan, the cool little shopping list app on my k3s cluster.
I created a manifest for flux and tested it on a placeholder hostname. Then I decided I should move it to an internal subdomain--and switch to using a wildcard certificate to minimize letsencrypt request for internal things. This meant I needed to install reflector to copy the wildcard cert to all the namespaces.
Once I deployed reflector, I had errors with slots…
I'm trying to play through the implications of some software I've been thinking about maybe designing.
It's legal to make a digital copy of the media that you own (videos, audio) physical copies of. It's legal to give a physical copy of your media to someone else or loan it out, which transfers your viewing license while they have It. Then it should also be legal to let someone else use a digital copy of your media given that you don't also use it at the same time. So as long as you keep track of your license, you should be able to let exactly one person stream some media you own.
If someone else then "steals" that content and views it without a license then that has to be legally on them, otherwise streaming platforms would be liable whenever someone cracks some DRM.
So then, it should be completely legal to set up a local community media library streaming service where you can share content you own licenses to as long as you track your license count and don't let more people stream at any given time than there are licenses available.
Is there something obvious I'm missing (aside from the MPAA and RIAA don't care about the law and will just sue anyone they can just to make an example)?

#infosec annoyance of the day - I use a tool for work that requires me to put in a rolling one-time code for 2fa, and doesn't show the code as I'm typing it.
That would be ok, except if I switch apps to copy the code so I can paste it in, it usually forces me to re-enter my username and password, then even though I'm in the 30 second validity window, it refuses the code.
So I have to wait till the 30 seconds roll over, copy the code, switch to the tool, re-enter my username/password, hope it doesn't take so long to negotiate with the back end that the code in my clipboard expires, then finally paste the code.
Conveniently I only have to do it multiple times a day, every work day.
Israeli tech founder Maor Shlomo,
whose vibe coding startup Base44 sold for over $80 million when it was acquired by Wix,
