This is why it's important to understand antisemitism and how to fight it. It's especially important now because the apparatus of violence in Israel is itself a tool of global fascism, and we finally have an opportunity to dismantle the whole thing. But we have to be aware of how fascists can pivot around to block this.

Although data augmentation has been extensively studied in various other deep learning tasks, it has not been systematically explored for MMF imaging. This work provides the first in-depth experimental and computational study on the efficacy and limitations of augmentation techniques in this field. We demonstrate that standard image transformations and conditional generative adversarial-based synthetic speckle generation fail to improve, or even deteriorate, reconstruction quality, as they neglect the complex modal interference and dispersion that results in speckle formation. To address this, we introduce a physical data augmentation method in which only organ images are digitally transformed, while their corresponding speckles are experimentally acquired via fiber. This approach preserves the physics of light-fiber interaction and enhances the reconstruction structural similarity index measure~(SSIM) by up to 17\%, forming a viable system for reliable MMF imaging under limited data conditions.

Thinking a bit more about the #iNaturalist thing: imho, it also speaks to a certain disconnect or misunderstanding of why people continue to volunteer.
Most people absolutely initially come to any form of volunteering for an organization's mission, but: People come for the mission but they STAY for the community.
People care for the mission & if an org goes against it, there'll be backlash. But even plans that reasonably foster an org's mission will fail if they go against the community.

Now what I •really• want is…oh, say, the ability to set a volume level for my daily alarm that’s independent of the other volume settings so that I don’t fail to wake up because I turned down my ringer.
