Finished reading “Erasure” by Percival Everett.
“Monk”, a largely overlooked black academic author, rages at the publishing industry & writes a deliberately offensive ghetto-lit parody. They love it, offering serious money. Satire collides with financial necessity.
A savage rebuke of publishing industry racism paired with genuinely moving dementia subplot. Uneven but provocative - raises uncomfortable questions about authenticity and selling out.

My WireGuard -> systemd script has grown quite a bit since I first wrote it. It now auto-converts all files in the input directory, writes files to the output directory, and sets appropriate permissions (all configurable). It also now has an optional argument to define a certain interface as 'default' (meaning it will have ActivationPolicy = up). I used it to setup Proton VPN on my Framework laptop and it worked seamlessly.

I am a writer. A writer who also happens to be Kenyan. And I have come to this thesis statement: I don't write like ChatGPT. ChatGPT, in its strange, disembodied, globally-sourced way, writes like me. Or, more accurately, it writes like the millions of us who were pushed through a very particular educational and societal pipeline, a pipeline deliberately designed to sandpaper away ambiguity, and forge our thoughts into a very specific, very formal, and very impressive shape.

So the new #Kreutz #comet #MAPS is *still* following the constant rapid rise in brightness it has shown since discovery: a dumb extrapolation - cobs.si/analysis/?comet=2688&f - has it get 10,000-times brighter than the Sun at its extremely close perihelion which makes so sense at all, of course, physically.
"It must therefore be assumed that this increase in activity will level off significantly in the near future," writes fg-kometen.vdsastro.de/koj_202: "More likely are parameters m m0=12.0 mag / n=4 (or even lower), which would still result in a (very short-term) maximum brightness of about –9 mag (but this would probably still be significantly too bright) – always assuming that the comet survives its perihelion passage unscathed."
For other views see cbat.eps.harvard.edu/iau/cbet/ and arxiv.org/abs/2602.17626 and facebook.com/photo?fbid=102365 and cometografia.es/cometa-kreutz- - and the actual brightness is tracked at cobs.si/obs_list?id=2688 where it has reached ~11.5 mag. now.
