#Android / #GrapheneOS experts, if I run on battery saver and data saver all the time, is there a point in disabling mobile data before I lock the phone? My main concern is battery saving. I also run RethinkDNS, if that could be a factor.

Okay chat, this video has baffled me for far too long. What in deconstructed cottage pie heck is going on here? :neocat_confused:

Some strange video I think I found on imgur that has been confusing me forever. It shows only the feet area on the ground of someone wearing their left shoe, next to a standup sock holder with a live crab inside, and a squishy foot long white oval thing filled with– something like shaving cream or whip cream.

The person steps on it with their right foot (which has a red toe ring on their big toe and a blue one on their middle toe) thus causing the contents of the oval thing to squish out from…

Anyone with experience on here driving an #EV around the French Alps? Problems finding chargers? ABRP looks like it's a bit thin on the ground for fast chargers? Maybe ok for trickle charge? Trying to work out if I dare rent an EV or should l stick to ICE for now (which I really don't like..). #askFedi
EDIT: update - thanks all for your helpful info, looks like it's easily possible even in the french Alps. Looking forward to my summer holidays!

Danke euch!

I need your help. It's surprisingly hard to find a PC game (or port/emulation) that ticks the following boxes:
- generally easy, or with easy difficulty setting
- mostly linear, not open world
- story-driven
- ideally, controller support
You know what I mean? I'm looking for something relaxing for when my brain is exhausted where I don't have to make too many decisions.

It's frustrating how many important services and channels of communication rely on questionable tech. For example, my neighbourhood uses Meta's WhatsApp to the point where if I hadn't accessed the chat I wouldn't have had an ETA on reactivation of our hot water that was out for several days. For this purpose, I've made a slight compromise (using a different phone number). But I'd like to #AskFedi

I recall using an app/service/... for offline access to all kinds of docs, but sadly, I don't remember its name. (I know I have used it to access cppreference and such). Any ideas? 🥺
Alternatively, any suggestions for offline access to JavaScript docs? MDN says it has offline access but then says it's only for "MDN Plus", which it also says I have but does not provide a means to enable offline storage. 😤

Cycling question: trying out saddles, in the UK
UK cycling people, is there somewhere you'd go to sit on different saddles to test if they're comfortable? Is that a thing?
I've worked out that my (default came-with-the-bike) saddle isn't the right shape for me: it's giving me an achy tailbone, as well as I think being a bit too narrow for optimal sit-bone comfort.
For context, I'm an "occasional cyclist for pleasure and/or practical reasons", shall we say. No ambition to be super fast.
Looking around online, I think I want something more like the Rido R2 or one of the Selle ones, shaped to have air under the tailbone area. Or maybe even a noseless one like the Spongy Wonder, though I don't like the look of how the metal frame sticks out at the front of those.
What's the chances a shop would have more than one of those and a willingness to get them out for a test sit? Or, better still, is there a loan scheme anywhere, so you can actually "test drive" them for a bit? Or do people usually just buy and be willing to sell again?
I'm in Nottingham, and I know there are bike shops I could get to, but I'm not seeing "come in and try all these saddles, we'll help you to find the right one" kinds of messaging.
Could also potentially travel elsewhere at some point if it turns out there's some kind of "best place in the country for that question".
Advice welcome!
