I was watching a YouTube video this morning where somebody was talking about a coffee app where you (the user) search for roasters in your area that you like and it shows you nearby coffee shops that use that roaster. You can then get a list of coffee's that you can buy from that coffee shop. It also has a journaling aspect to help you figure out what your favorites are. I kind of liked that idea.

While I work, I've been listening to a few consumer videos on YouTube. The one I'm listening to right now is "The INSANELY Sweet Sugary Coffee Epidemic"
As someone who doesn't normally have any sugar in coffee, this blows my mind.
A lot of the time though, those are more like deserts than cofee.

Today went bust on the first attempt = I poured water for six cups of coffee in the brewer but only four scoops of coffee in the filter. That's tea with a hint of coffee taste. So I guess I'll have to accept that glasses are mandatory for making drinkable coffee from here on.

Just watched the weirdest Metro turnstile jumpers ever. A couple, wearing what looked to be very nice coats, carrying coffee. He slowly climbed one of the machines and calmly walked over the gate, then grabbed his coffee and helped her get over the gate as well.

I watched a short documentary on how bad Starbucks is now. It's a shame as it used to be a nice third place to visit, but now it's overpriced, generally lacks vegan food options and is often quite poorly maintained.
That said, I prefer to visit smaller, independent coffee shops as they are much better in all ways.

An update to my work-from-a-coffee-shop experiment.
I finally got out to a coffee shop with my iPad and Magic Keyboard, and am using this time to respond to emails.
The coffee shop seemed very happy with me buying a coffee and sitting here without restriction. So, that’s what I am doing.
Although they have free Wi-fi here, I am tethering to my phone… feels safer, although I guess I could VPN 🤔
I’m also meeting @… here for lunch, so that will be nice.
Best of all, I can access my NAS remotely, so I have everything I need 😅
