The First Thing They Burn: Why War Always Comes for Beauty
When the Mongol army sacked Baghdad in 1258, they did not stop at killing the Caliph. They threw the contents of the House of Wisdom into the Tigris. Manuscripts on astronomy, medicine, mathematics, philosophy, and poetry turned the river black with ink for days. Killing people was not enough. What those people had made, what they had thought and dreamed and rendered into form, that had to be annihilated too.
Hey @…
I want to migrate my email to you. My plan was
1. Set up hosting with you
2. Move the contents of my IMAP folders over
3. Point my MX records at you on the old DNS provider
4. Let everything stabilise
5. Transfer the domain to you and point the MX records at you from you.
Is that sensible? I've got as far…

Scholarly (history) tables of contents, EN vs FR:
English: no more than 3 words per chapter title. These are merely signifiers, empty, regardless of length, until one has digested the argument each lays out. Why waste ink and paper on such pointless abstraction?
French: describing a chapter in fewer words than are contained in the chapter betrays the essence of the work. Still, we know that nothing is perfect and brevity has its merits so here is our 27-page table of contents.
The #ArtemisII mission has quite an impact on ... the operation of the James Webb Space Telescope as #JWST operations plan currently assumes roughly a quarter of the usual #DeepSpaceNetwork (DSN) access will be available, which has a direct impact on the number of science visits that can be executed and the volume of data that can be downlinked."

@… Alternately it may be where each package contains nothing but an RFID tag on the exterior, that the consumer must scan with The Meat App™️ to gain information about the contents.
🎭 Threat actor also published 3 clean packages (lara-media, snooze, syslog) to build credibility before deploying malicious ones — classic supply chain deception
💀 Impact: Full remote shell access, arbitrary file read/write, harvesting of .env contents including database credentials & API keys — RAT runs at app boot with same permissions as the web app

The contents of the remaining Epstein files must be really bad if you're wiling to start a war in the middle east to distract from them.
That, or you're just a fuckwit.
Could go either way.

Tell Congress: Oppose H.R. 5103 the misnamed "Safe and Beautiful Act" being pushed by people who have no interest in living in DC themselves, and wouldn't know beauty if they fell over it. (H.R. 5103 is about as beautiful as the Big Beautiful Bill.)

Security issues back in the day: by executing a specially prepared code you can place private data of some process in CPU's cache, and then predict its contents using a timing attack 💪.
Security issues today: I opened a big file and ran out of memory 😭.

Government issued and fleet managed mobile phone used by a senior member of the Prime Minister's office, and contents are not backed up?
This is either embarrassing for government in one way, or it's embarrassing for government in a different way.

Does anyone else observe a weirdness with Docker registry 2.8.2 (default Ubuntu noble) where it won't accept layers because it thinks it aleady has them and then serve 0 byte 200s when asked for it which leads to "unexpected EOF" errors on deployments?
We ran the registry previously on Focal and it worked great for year. Upgrading breaks regularly despite us completely nuking the old contents incl Redis cache. There's currently also no deleting/maintanance b/c I thoug…
@… First up is changing the SD partition table to #GPT. It's more modern for a reason, I say. I dislike using anything called "msdos" in 2026.
So here I am breaking open the img file, copying the contents over and updating cmdline.txt and fstab. 🙈 Here's hoping it'll boot.

2 days ago, I had a shelf (and the contents of it, which included literal ROCKS due to a kids' "rock painting kit") fall on me. It left a nice bloody cut right next to my eye, and I haven't repaired the shelf yet because I'm petty enough to hold grudges against inanimate fuckin' objects.
The other one I truly love is GitUp (https://gitup.co). Its visualization handles certain specific tasks better than anything else — tasks where I’m more concerned about the shape of the commit graph than the contents of individual commits.
Because of the way it does live updates of repo state and offers a whole-commit-graph-level undo, I’ll sometimes keep it open in the background while doing some fiddly thing in another tool (Fork, CLI, whatever) just so I can see what the ^*@# is happening.
Alas, its lack of support for commit signing means I use it less and less.

How many is a lot?
Yeah, lots.
Despite having spent lots of time trying to create meaningful directory names it's still not easy to always find a photo I'm looking for.
What would actually be a USEFUL tool for AI would be something that I could run locally which could examine each of my photos and build some kind of free-text database of their contents which I can then grep.
But as far as I can tell nothing along those lines exists. Why have AI tools spent so much time trying to create faked photos and not producing something actually valuable?
